Your season as a whole

Postby Hookup » Tue Jan 13, 2004 2:21 pm

I understand this post has probably been beaten to death, but I have a question that's somewhat different. For nobodies gain and everybodies information, please state, if you would, how your season has gone so far (poor, fair, good, great or just sucks), if you hunt on a lease or public land, (no specifics of course) a rough figure on the birds you kill per hunt (again no specifics) this season. I would like to see what the kill ratio is between public land and private land between us and so everybody can get an idea of where they stand this season as compared to the next hunter. Not writing a book, just curious! :? Thanks,
As for myself, I have hunted all public this year and have only averaged 2 birds to a hunt. I walk in to hunt 95% of the time. This season in my view has sucked.

mostly public land. Moderate to poor. But like I say, A bad day of duck hunting is better than a good day at work.

Poor Year
I hunt public land and averaged about 2-3 birds per hunt. In my opinion, it's the worst season i've ever experienced in the south delta. (Have only been hunting for 11 years though)

Private land. Great dove season. Good duck season. Two of us averaging 6 to 8 per hunt, mostly greenheads.

Public and private land. Neither one produced much. I saw more birds than last year but overall the season was a tremendous disappointment.
