That is really cool! And excellent work on the mounts, as always!

We killed a "brewer's duck" this year in Tally. It was pretty wild looking when the dog brought it back.

Pat

can the leucistic coloration occur in other species. I have seen and killed mourning doves with similar color schemes.

Last season opening week in AR I saw a blonde hen in flock of around 150, never could get her in, but we were trying! Looked like a diamond shining up there. Fingers crossed, one day...

hntrpat1's duck is a mule duck, pintail x mallard cross. Beautiful bird. Very nice Brewers duck mount in the first post! Those blonde hens are awesome as well! Pat your mounts are very nice. Ima bring you one to mount one of these days. 8)

Here's one I killed in AL around 5 or 6 years ago.

A "Mule Duck" is a term given to a sterile hybrid. The Mallard/Pintail of hntrpat1 isn't sterile and can reproduce as any of the Mallard hybrids like Mallard/Black/Wigeon/Gadwall/etc. The F2 looks almost phenotypically like the genotype most prominant. Therefore many are killed and not recognized. We've bred 50-50 Mallard/Pintails back to both pure Mallards or Pure Pintails and the offspring at first glance looks like the pure parent. By the F3 they are wholly phenotypes of the pure parents.
