it does amaze me that so many die hards still show up, even during the tough times. There is no doubt a longer tradition at State. You guys saw me post up earlier about the fun I had in left field lounge for the first time. This is a great place to watch a college baseball game no doubt.

We are trying to build that same type of tradition at Ole Miss..Tradition takes time, more than 5-6 years...That being said, Ole Miss has also become a great place with a great atmosphere to watch a baseball game.

This is similar to the Grove vs Junction deal...Reb fans feel there is no way the Junction will ever touch the Grove, same way you guys feel about Dudy...You are proud of your baseball tradition and it shows...

Look at where the attendence records numbers are coming from (Ms State) and you should realize that those are fake numbers because you know that they can't count pass 10 in starkville.

I've been to games at all 3..........States outfield area is the best!! Ole Miss can pack it, and So Miss has a pretty good thing going as well with the outfield deal. We all 3 rank in the top 15 in attendance in the country, so let's quit pissing on each others legs........

This tickles me.

Though Arkansas has maybe the worst weather conditions (Ask Ms. St and their Snow game here this year) We put up gawdy attendance figures and it's easy to summize that if we had more palatable early season like, say Red Stick They maybe be #2 more often but still a snippet from Rivals.

"Baum Stadium is the palace of college baseball stadiums. Though many schools now are building new stadiums, they still are playing catch up with the Razorbacks. When Baum Stadium was erected in 1996, it was the class of college baseball. Not much has changed, as the capacity currently is 10,500 and luxury suites extend from the left-field foul pole to the right-field foul pole. Arkansas fans also pack the house rain or shine and provide a premier home-field advantage for their baseball program. Everyone aspires to have a facility like the University of Arkansas."

I'll put our atmosphere up against anyone's, Oh, now that everyone has spent their wads, Van Horn is raising funds for more improvements to Baum.

Ya'll go about your pissin' contest but when I hear ESPN say that Bertman's sez the new Box isn't as loud as the old Box. I giggle.

At the present time you guys are the worst in the conference at 2 of the big 3...Thats baseball and football.

(I know how it feels to be GH22 with all this state smack I've been talking)

I don't think there has been a single post from a single Bulldog NOT acknowledging that we had a bad year. What they have stated / defended is the overall comparison of the programs. The attendance data just validates that we are the leader. Again, what Ole Miss confuses is the gap is only closing, not that Ole Miss has passed State by.....but keep wearing thosy rosy glasses.

Regarding the condition of the program, I would much rather be in State's position than Ole Miss's position. What do i mean by that? I recognize what happened to State this year......we didn't have the talent / pitching to compete. We sucked. We know what we have to do to "get there". Cohen has the recruiting class coming in, two years down the road we will be back in Omaha.

Regarding Ole Miss.......with some of the "greatest college baseball teams assembled".....you can't win and take it to the next level. That in itself would make me very concerned. What is your excuse? Keep thinking everything is great in Oxford and you will continue to "host" regionals.

PS: Sorry i posted the attendance data, I know how Ole Miss fans like to ignore the facts......my appologies

oh contrare.. this was actually one of the weaker teams in oxford the past few years IMO. Very solid team, but nowhere near the talent of years past, partially due to HS draftees going pro (reed, van slyke), some transferring out (clark), and then missing on some kids. This team far exceeded expectations of most from the beginning of the season, though that still doesn't mean i'm not disappointed in the way the season finished. while we're on facts, how many CWS championships does MSU have to show for all of those appearances, seems real similar to saying what does UM have to show for all the super regional appearances?

pertaining to attendance and atmosphere... several coaches have said that Swayze is one of the best if not the best they've played in, those aren't my words. IMO, You have Arkansas, LSU, State, Ole Miss in one group, followed by the rest of the country when it comes to attendance/atmosphere, but that's just my opinion. All of them have their own "niche" about what makes them special.
Sun rise in the east.... and it sets up in the West, yes the sun rise in east baby, and it sets up in the west..... It's hard to tell, hard to tell, hard to tell, which one, which one I love best.....

I gotta switch it up sometimes. That's actually me in the picture before the Army made me cut my hair and shave. But it's like I told rebelduckaholic, we can bicker back and forth all day about UM and MSU, but if you're a Cubs fan you're OK in my book.....Especially if you're a Cubs fan in Mississippi. After all, this Forum is for entertainment, right?
