I am completely dumbfounded at the number of people who have come out in favor of beating the chit out of people. I am not saying anybody who attempts to run over an officer, shoot at an officer, or otherwise injures an officer shouldn't be punished. It is the courts job to decide punishment not the cops.
When a LEO takes his oath does the oath say he is to select which laws he wants to obey and enforce. Does it say that if the officer thinks his fellow officer was in danger then "all bets are off" and the officer can take the law into his own hands. Deciding which laws to follow and which to ignore.
Wow, the wall of blue is out in full force. Hope my identity isn't discovered because it is apparent to me by this thread that I would be getting visits by the man to give me some reeducation. I'm a threat to officers, beat the chit out of me. If the attitude that has been presented on this thread is the prevailing attitude of police in general, then perhaps there is merit to the belief that police forces are generally corrupt.
If this is to hard for an officer to understand then he has no business being on the streets. Do your damn job, arrest the guy, and let the courts deal with it. Anything else and you have become the criminal and should be in court yourself. If you can't control yourself, no matter the situation, then you need to go to the house.
man breaks into your house, robs you and attempts to kill you as he runs out the back door... The guy trips and hits his head on the concrete steps as your running after him.... are you saying that your not gonna pounce him while he's down? im damn sure not gonna poke him with a stick to see if he moves and give him a chance to get up... thats whats the damn problem.
