What shot size and choke combo do you like?

Postby Str8Meat » Tue Jan 06, 2004 11:35 am

Newbie here on the board. Just wanted to know what shotgun shells (brand
and shot size) that everyone likes to shoot. What choke patterns the best.
I shoot either Kent or Estates 3" #2. Mod. choke in Browning Gold Stalker.
Post up with your selection.

B&P shells. #2's IC choke in my Beretta 390 or Browning A-5
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Remington 870 with IC choke (built in, no fancy screw-in chokes) with Winchester Dry-Lok #1's or #2's.
I shoot this combo because this is what patterned best in my gun. The most important thing to do is pattern your gun and choke combo with various shells, find out which combo works well and shoot that exact shell with that choke.

I use #2's and BB's and always a FULL choke. Keeps from having to ring too many necks.

modified...usually shoot 3 1/2" #2's or whatever is on sale. Kents are my usual choice since they cost less than the "big 3" I have shot nearly every length of shell this year getting rid of old shells, borrowed shells etc. for the most part over the past 5 years they have been what I mentioned at first.
