Before you make up your mind on a mud motor, you need to check out the Prodrive motors. They have a couple of videos on http://www.prodriveoutboards.com. Mighty impressive and they are a lot easier to handle than the typical mud motor.

I have a question about the Prodrive. Can you get a boat on plain with that motor? I mean if I have a 15 minute boat ride at full speed and then have to navigate 4 - 8 inch water in a mud flat is this motor practical? Cause they look cool as all get out  .

The mud buddy is a very reliable unit. The Honda motors will run forever.
