On an average day I perfer 3" #2 Winchesters, I bought a box of Hevi last year after Christmas and since I'm not the best shot in the world I save the expensive shells but I had a chance to shoot some beavers early in the season and I shot the Hevi to get the job done. did a good job got five with 3 shots at about 40 yards on top of the hut out of my 870 with a modified. Yeah it was expensive but it was just as good to me as a full limit of 6. Hevi is worth the price if the birds aren't really working your decoys and landing outside of them, because it will reach out and tap that booty and knock them dead, had a buddy of mine get 2 mallards at about 45 yeards doing that and made me wish I had loaded mine up.

Hevi-shot
Hevi-Shot is unbelieveable. It will shoot through a sheet of tin at 50 yards!!! The copper plated stuff did not even put a dent in it. It will revolutionize the shotshell industry. It will shoot almost every pellet through a Turkey at 30 Yards. Check it out for yourself at NitroAmmuntion.com I did not believe it until I tried it.

I shoot 2 2/4" and 3" # 6's. It's like the good old days of lead, shooting criples on the water is almost entirely a thing of the past.

I don't know if it's comparable, but one of my hunters cold-rolled a speck the other day with #6 Tungsten.

Hevi shot is for real. hard hitting long range shots are very possible. Saw some of the longest shots of my life in the last few days by hunters using it. No kiddin, a blue goose at , no kiddin now, at least 75yds. I know doesn't sound right, but I saw it. LONG SHOT
Sound familiar?

I became a believer this morning. After we brought down a mallard this morning with about 4 shots using steel, the other bird flew off and circled back around gaining altitude. When he passed over the hole, the hevi-shot shooter nailed him -- stone dead -- at about 60 yards. We just thought the boy could shoot. However, it was the shot, not the shooter apparently.
Hevi Shot
I'm sold on this stuff after my hunt yesterday. THREE shots, FOUR dead ducks - two wood ducks and two greenheads. No followup watershots necessary. Very cool

Got five boxes of Hevi-shot for Christmas. Let me tell you, it will slap dab smack a mallard down! I shot 4's and 6's...couldn't tell the difference. No puff of feathers and keep on flying...you hit them, they die...end of story. I'm saving my money and also putting in an early request with Santa for next year. Now, I have to admit, even though I didn't buy them, watching my brother-in-law kill a couple of $6 teal made me wince! Have to admit as well, I have a $6 teal in my freezer right now, too!

I have been hunting ducks for thirty years and remember the days of lead. I have been shooting #2's in steel since it came out. Shoot them down then shoot the cripples. I tried 3" #6 in hevi shot in December up in the delta in a brake and was knocking the Mallards down above the tree tops. Unbelievable! It brought back great memories of the past. It is worth the money.
