i am planning on buying a Benelli SBE but i have heard that 3.5 inch autos hang up a lot. should i get a 3 inch instead?

i didn't know they made the SBE in a 3 inch. I thought that was the other brand benelli; not the super black eagle. my understanding is that the SBE is only made to shoot 2 3/4- 3 1/2, not just a specific 3 inch. confusing huh?

i have shot every type of shell out of my SBE and yet to have a misfire or any kind of major jam. I had two 2 3/4" shells get jammed the very first time I shot it b/c I didn't work the action properly I guess. But you will love that gun. And the SBE is only in a 3.5

I hear that the SBE makes for a mighty heavy decoy anchor and mighty light boat anchor. I'm not sure of any other uses for it.

buy a synthetic baikal mp-153 and save $900--they both do the same thing, unless you just wanna pay that much extra for the name

please do not waste your money on the sbe!!!!!
go buy yourself a browning or even a daisy bb gun.
just dont throw your money away.if that is all your are wanting to do

i HAVE USED A BENELLI FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND HAVE OUTSHOT BROWNING, REMINGTON, AND OTHER GUNS. iT SHOOTS GREAT AND 2 3/4 SHOOT THE BEST IN IT.

I didn't realize they made anything but Benelli's. Mine has hung one shell in the past 3 years. I have dove hunted with mine and you can shoot 3's, 3 1/2 or 2 3/4. You can't buy a lighter or smoother shooting shotgun with the thump like the SBE.

I have a SBE and it doesn't hang up on me. The only draw-back to the SBE is that you can't shoot light load shells through it during dove season. It states this in the owners manual. You must shoot at least 1 1/8 oz of shot for the shell to eject correctly. If you are duck hunting this is not a problem since the shells are maxed out in dram eq. and most duck loads are at least 1 1/4 oz. and more. Don't worry about the hanging up issue. Just take care of your SBE and it will take care of you.

If you like a good pointing gun with little to no hang ups you will not go wrong with a beretta. I've shot one for 17 years. These are 3 inch guns but the new extreema has performed well for the fella's that have them.

My 390AL has seen just about every rough condition that could be thrown on a gun; Dunked, covered with so much gumbo that it would stick to you when you pulled it up to your face. Rain, so much that you'd have to pour it out of the barrell. Sleet and snow not to mention the rest of the fowl weather. I have had to hold my hands on the reciever to get it to eject one day three years ago because it froze up on me, but other that it has been a very faithful companion.

I seen one of my friends take his SBE and use it for a robo pole after the first season he had it. He wasn't real happy with a $1100 single shot so he took it by the barrel and tossed it as far as he could. Kinda childish but I thought it was funny at the time.

Next time someone wants to toss a fine piece of machinery like that into the water, I will be glad to take it off thier hands.

sure you can go get one of those gas op. guns if you want, or even one of those spring loaded guns, but none of them are going to compare to the SBE.

2 3/4", 3", 3 1/2" They all shoot!

You have to break them in to be able to shoot those little shells.

sooo--if none of them compare to the sbe, how come a break-in period is needed? and sure-cycle kits which just add more to the price? my "cheap" gas gun shoots down to 1 oz. loads with no adjustments and no problems, easy on the recoil, too--sorry, no one here can convince me that a sbe is worth $900 more

break in period - ever had a really nice pair of shoes that weren't so comfortable the first time you wore them?

I shoot trap loads through my SBE also.

As long as there are people who refuse to carry a benelli, some of us will still have an advantage.
