Re: Game Warden
You mean to tell me that if you have land locked property, the court has to give you easement? The hell you say... Refer to my avatar... Easement Sheazment!!!
And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it, they will be your food.
Re: Game Warden
I thought easements were only granted on agriculture land if it was land locked. I didn't think you could get an easement on hunting land.
I'm probably wrong...

Yep, you can't deny someone access to their property just because you own all the land that surrounds it. You will be on the short end of that argument everytime. Don't even have to hire a lawyer for that one. Now the argument may be where the easement will be. The guy who own the land that surrounds the other guy may want to force him to go through a gully with a creek running through it versus a road that is already there. You can argue it, but, you will not win that one.

Re: Game Warden
Easements are like everything else in life... depends on where and who you are. I know Ive hunted some kick butt FEDERAL land, you can't get to because of the private land around it, in effect, giving the private land owners there own little federal refuge to guide on... Was told I could hunt it all I want, but I coudln't get to it. Even if the beanfields they owned where 20 foot deep like the day we where there.
and only way id get a gw ticketed for tresspassing, or anything else, is if I was willing to go the distance to get him gone. otherwise its a bad bad move. travis

[quote="MS River Rat"]How would you know if he is what you say he is! You have been hunting on the West side of the county how long? Never heard but just a couple of people talk down about Jimmy. Brilliant comment by the way, calling a game warden an booty for all of the Bolivar county members to see! I bet that never makes its way back to him.

Who is the world are you talking to? You must have me confused with someone else. I grew up with my Dad, Uncle, cousins, and all being members of Huntington Point. Then we started hunting on land all over the Benoit to Pace to Skene area of which we still duck hunt on. I hunted Black Bayou during the early 90s and Catfish with a real good friend since around 1994. I've only been hunting at Merigold for the last couple of years....but have been living in this area for 30 something years. I'm never illegal when I'm hunting so I could care less if I get checked. I know of some tickets Jimmy wrote last year that a Cleveland lawyer told me about (an upstanding one) that were are a bunch of crap.

I know we have a new one named Charles Lamb. He grew up in Cleveland. Not sure if he's Ward's replacement or not. I know Bullet and Ellington and those guys so I'll ask when I see one of them this week.

We have 80 acres thats land locked and we are allowed so many feet all the way into our property. I thinks its 40' strip all the way in to granddaddy's line but Im not sure. I know its a wide booty road capable of heavy equipment access
Life is to short to only fish on weekends
