Right or Wrong?

Postby BIG LARRY1 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 9:03 am

I went hunting with a friend this morning and two guys walked up on us before daylight and really screwed our hunt. We had signed in at the board and they ignored it. When asked if they were members they said the club president gave them permission to hunt. The rules say no hunting without a member. The president said that he made an exception for them. The guy I was with asked if he would make an exception for me and he said he could not because of the rules. Should the president have the right to do this? Seems wrong to me. My friend would probably be fined or something but not the president.

No he was in the wrong, the only time exceptions are should be made are in the case the whole club agrees to it ex. giving away a hunt for charity or help the less fortunate but even then I would imagine you would have a member of the camp with the group to keep anything from going wrong or getting lost. I would see to it the pres. doesnt get re-elected again and this situation doesnt happen again.

No he is wrong, being pres doesnt give you any special treatment. If this is happening, then its prob not the type club you want to be in

Nope. Believe I'd be bringing this point up at the next club meeting and asking what rules apply to who.

Not only should being the Pres should most definitely not give you special privledges, but it should place more of a burden or responsibility on you. This dude (The Pres) obviously can't handle being in charge and is not looking out for the best interest of other club members. I would get out and move on if he wasn't replaced soon!

Still wrong, even if he is the landowner.

Sounds to me like during the next meeting the President should be fined. You can never have double standards.....not when multiple people are paying for something equally.

I don't blame the guys that were hunting, I would have done the same thing. They did not know where we were and made an honest mistake.
They should have been told to check the board when they came to hunt but no one told them. I also think that president was trying to be a good guy by giving permission to them. They were just wanting to hunt. But, rules should be for all, no matter what the reason. He should have been there with them even if he did not hunt.
