I despise the damn bikers. If it wasn't made mostly for cars then it wouldn't be two lane blacktop. Get the hell out of my way. You want to be the "best at exercising" then get a stationary bike or ride somewhere where the speed limit is 25 or 30

Tell you what guys I would totally feel safe riding on the Trace knowing all you people are pissed at cyclists. They have the same right to the road that you do. Exercise a little patience and wait to pass. Why the d@mn hurry anyway??!!! Get in a hurry, fugg up and hit a cyclist and your booty will probably end up in jail. Anyway several msduckers ride the Trace and other locales and I would hate to think any of you would want to pi$$ off or hurt a fellow msducker.

I really find this thread pretty funny for a group of guys on the internet always sending out prayer request and a group of guys that are quick to point out morals and teaching your kids the right thing. You guys are absolute idiots. There are people out on a designated bike path trying to keep from dying early in life by having a heart attack or something else and you fools are in such a hurry, in you leather captains chairs, air conditioning, ipod listening trucks that you cannot slow down or move over.

Jesus, you fools should be ashamed of yourselves. Get a life. I have a friend that is a cyclist that was hit by some idiot like you guys and it damn near killed him and he will never be the same. He wasn't riding 2 or 3 wide. It was just him, he was hugging the shoulder of the road and some dumbass redneck hit him with his truck and kept going.

Maybe tomorrow, when you get in from church, and your kids get on their bikes on your neighborhood street, I will pull my mirrors all the way out and try to run them off the road in front of your house. I mean, $#!+, those dumbass kids of yours, don't they know that if it wasn't for cars that those streets wouldn't be there. Sure hope I don't hurt any of your children.

Does that sound pretty stupid to you for me to think that way?

Get a life guys, let these people on bikes enjoy a nice ride on a road that is designated just for that. I haven't ridden in a few years but I can tell you, when you are sitting on a 25lbs bike with a cheap plastic helmet on your head and a pickup tries to blow you off the road, it is not funny and is quite scary. A biker rides off that shoulder and risks serious injury or even death.

Is killing a man or women worth not slowing down a few mph.

I realize a lot of guys on here are young bucks, but somewhere down the road you are going to be faced with doing something to stay in shape and don't knock it until you try it.

As for you jerkoff that says to get a stationary bike and stay off the road, I will make you a deal. I will get all these bikers to get a stationary bike and get off the road as long as you are willing to stay out of the woods and play the Duck Hunt game on the nintendo. What is it not the same?

Just remember how big of a jerkoff you are next time you respond to the many prayer request. Oh, tell your children they better watch their six, these roads are built for cars right?

Good post Bababooey. Here is the kicker, alot of these young bucks your griping about think they are ultra badasses. Little do they have a clue of how good of shape many of these clyclist are. I garantee you the powerlifter I ride with would probablly kick the ever living crap out of most of these guys if they tried something and got caught. That is if he wasn't so dang nice.

The thing I'm having a hard time with is the view that the Trace is a major roadway. It's a FEDERAL PARK where cycling, hiking, and even horseback riding in certain areas is encouraged and promoted. The Trace is even a designated bike trail. When one uses the Trace to commute and simply to get from point "A" to point "B" I think they should defer to those who are using the park for its intended purpose. If you don't like people using the Federal Park for what it was intended for and it is putting a kink in your travel needs, then find another route on roads that were built for that purpose.

Talk to any Park Ranger and they'll tell you to get off the Trace if you don't like it. It's being used for what it was built for.

Riding three wide? What about riding 16 or 17 long? It's like passing an 18 wheeler and you can't get over 50 mph. Not easy to do even you are in a hurry. Not good! Not good! If you are not in a hurry it's IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Spread out if you are going to ride in big groups. Better yet, don't ride in big groups.

Let's keep it clear: bankermane= ultrabadass
Blackduck = jerkoff

I don't want anyone to get confused while we are getting excited about some peoples particular hobby. Not curing cancer or helping orphans but exercising their Federal right to wear spandex and enjoy the senic Natchez Trace. By all means rant about how narrow minded we are just because we aren't thrilled to have to drive behind hobbiest. Well I guess they aren't really hobbiest since they are out there valiantly fighting heart disease and making themselves better and stronger one revolution at a time. Is it really worth getting that worked up over. Not really.

Truck vs. Bike

Truck wins 100% of the time.
This is a fact not a particular opinion on the subject at hand.

You sure do seem to have a negative attitude towards "prayer request".What does that hve to do w/ this subject?Regardless of what the trace was meant for it is DANGEROUS for everybody to have bicycles and vehicles using the same lanes of traffic. It's illegal to rideon the interstate and should be on other heavily used roadways too.BTW-there's abig difference in a child riding a bike on their neighborhood streets than on a busy roadway.I ride bikes myself.I just don't do it where I might be in danger of getting hit by a car

I find it odd that someone will get on here and say, "prayer sent," which implies that they are praying for someone and then they head out to their truck and pull their towing mirrors out to try and hit someone riding on a bike.

If you don't understand that, I don't know how to help you.

I use to ride on public roads a lot, but due to people with lack of respect for cyclists; I find it hardly worth it now. Having almost been swiped and having a drink thrown on me once
