A first

Postby strongriverducker1 » Sat Dec 20, 2003 8:24 am

Yesterday afternoon I did something that I have never done before. About 15 mallards dropped in on me,shot three times, 3 dead ducks. I could not believe it. It gets better, as I was picking up the birds the last one had a band. My first tripple and my third band, it doesn't get any better than this.
If it's a hen we know who killed it.

That is great! :D :D :D Now the only thing better would be to have three with three bands and maybe a double band. :D :D :D
Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

Wow
I wonder if there would be any chance you would like to go the casino's this week? You just hit the big Jackpot. Not many guys ever shoot a triple and much less a band in the mix. Great shooting, I don't think I would like you to hunt with me. I proabable couldn't come up with enough excuses for my poor shooting. Hope your season continues to be this good, I wouldn't look for alot of presents under the tree you just got yours in the decoy's.

Cool. Thats what I love about duck hunting. You can sit in the blind or boat for 3 hours and not fire a shot. Then low and behold, a nice group of ducks comes over and wants to work, they decide to drop in for a visit, you stay patient and get them in the kill zone and make three good shots and kill three good ducks. Then you get a little "gravy" when you pick up a band. Three hours well spent.
