was nested on the ground, doesn't look any smaller than most owls in the area (not of the pygmy sort anyway). we found another nest like this one with 3 eggs in it (she only has 3 under her). thought maybe it fell out of a tree and she kept nesting on it, but no trees (big enough to support or even built in) or hollows to fall out of near the area.
What kind of owl is this?
