Thanks for the encouragement. It really helps to know we are not the only people who have had to talke this.

Keep your head above water and relax. My wife lost three to miscarriages during the first 9 years we were married. Had our first son in '02 after 10.5 years of marriage.

Started trying for the second 5 months later, second son 15 months later.

In a couple of years, you'll be posting up about your vasectomy consultation or getting cable installed in the bedroom.

No time for jokes, but look on the bright side.........

Practice makes perfect and you can just keep practicing. Good luck.

Infertility can be quite enigmatic. In vitro is not always successful. If you elect to go this route, be sure to do your homework. Check costs but much more important is the clinic's success rate. I have several friends who have had good luck with their local fertility clinic but a host of others who have spent thousands and have nothing to show for it. The best clinic I am aware of is in Denver. I believe the one at Cornell in New Jersey is also top shelf. They may be more expensive and there is the travel element but it beats the heck out of the emotional roller coaster associated with failure. Best of luck to you and your wife.

Hang in there, Jim. I'm sure it'll happen for you two. I know a couple who went through the same thing and they eventually had a child.....and a very healthy one at that. Keep the faith.
