DU Poll

Postby jkm1272 » Thu Dec 18, 2003 8:46 am

Say MS makes $1,000,000 should all of the money stay in MS for projects. I think it should.

Assuming you mean duck stamp dollars, send the duck stamp dollars to te breeding grounds to conserve nesting habitat. BUT, I'd like to see ALL hunting license purchases require a $5 habitat stamp, similar to what they do in other states, earmarked for Mississippi WMA projects to include land purchases, planting, water control, pumping and infrastructure.

Keep it in Miss. Then you actually know where the money is going as well instead of hearing about it.

70% should stay here and 30% for the breeding grounds.

Send it to the breeding grounds. Put it in MS and you are just gonna have more refuges that you cant hunt. If you keep it in MS, put it into purchasing more land and put it in WMA's.
Can never have enough land in the breeding grounds. Support DU

Bustin' Ducks,

Yes, you mentioned that already about the free duck call. Give it to the kids. Let the dog chew on it. Use it as a New Year's Eve party horn

DELTA WATERFOWL

Postby Eli Delta » Fri Dec 19, 2003 9:20 am

I think that local du committees should have the opportunity to take at least 25% of the funds raised and put on Youth days, with arts, and crafts. The local committee could get the public involved and aware including DWFP and Biologist to train us as hunters to identify birds in flight, plumage during seasons, aquatic vegetation good for ducks and many other things. The list goes on what we could do with a % . This happens at every DELTA WATERFOWL banquet. Thats right you get to keep and make your descions count. I have seen this first hand from DELTA, I have seen these days with Kids, biologist, families, all together. Areas that local DELTA committee's have put efforts into. I support du and will always do so, But I am so much more passionate about what DELTA is doing for ducks.
