Please call your bands in. I've got a personal interest in those banded Wood Ducks.

Just got my info back from a banded mallard I killed the second weekend of the season. It was banded/hatched in 1999 in New Holland, SD.

I had one of those slow-motion dreams last night where one greenhead landed with about 60 gadwalls. When I jumped'em at about 35yds, I saw the band on the greenhead's leg and proceeded to miss him 3 times......(of course I was shooting 'X-pert's out of an improved cylinder). 'Musta been a carry-over from Wednesday's hunt with Timberjack, where I was in a tight timber hole shooting AT darting woodies with a modified choke. (What was I thinking?)

When will these nightmares end?.........please send us some mallards, so I can miss'em in real life. :? (I HAVE shot 3 times at a banded greenhead in real life.......and missed  Now THAT's a real nightmare!)

Banded Greenhead

Postby Surfdog » Sun Dec 14, 2003 6:28 pm

Just got my 9th band this past weekend in Greenwood MS.....3 greenheads landed in the decoys and none escaped! My last band I got was captured on video and yes I did see the band on the duck as I shot it. Believe it or not. I have the video to prove it. I told the guy filming that I shot the greenhead with the band on it. He laughed until we got it back in the blind.
Stuck in Atlanta......Headed for Greenwood
