Head count for Feb 28th Southern Flight OPEN training day...

Postby T-Bone » Mon Feb 16, 2009 11:42 am

Head count for lunch Feb 28th Southern Flight OPEN training day @ the Vires Plantation.
breakfast at Holiday Lodge @ 8:00 and begin training at 9:00.

The word Open meaning pertaining to but not regulated to Southern Flight members only! So invite and/or brang and friend and introduce him/her to HRC. I just need a head count so I can get lunch together. We will try to get a couple of set ups in for all levels of dogs and each handler can run them as they see fit for their dog..ie singles, double, double + single, or triple and possibly a blind or two. thanks, t.

Would love to join in on this...I have a lot to learn with this dog stuff. Would probably have to leave early on that day, but if I know nothing about dog stuff would I just be in the way?

no you wouldn't. The day is designed for someone like yourself. In reality, its designed as much for the social aspect as any real training benefit. Its a day someone new could come, watch, particpate if they wanted, meet some folks, and get a feel for what we do. Seeing what a trained dog can do can be a real eye opener. I remember a day like this when we first started the club... and when the call for finished dogs came out there wasn't but one. But he made the GROUND pound.. he made every other retreive I had ever seen mean nothing. Id never seen anything like it, but I knew right then (and even said it), I want one like that and I will have one like that. Aint nothing been the same since, thats for sure!

Most likely I won't be in attendence. Surgery that tuesday to remove a big booty stone from the upper poe of my right kidney (same place, same procedure I had fall before last... that sat was the day all hell broke loose last time, so Im expecting to not have as much fun that day as ya'll). But if it works out, I'll have tprice drive my fat doped up butt down there! travis
