Another good place to get a steak that I hardly ever think about is the Webster House on Greefield Road on the Brandon/Pearl line. The family that runs it are very old school and do not serve nor let you "brown bag" alcohol. But its good food in a pretty neat atmosphere.

Went to Shapleys the night after valentines two years ago. Got there at 5pm and there was maybe 10 people in the entire place. The guy at the front desk, not Scott of course, told me we could eat but we had to be gone by 6:15. I asked if they had the place rented out or something and he said no. I asked why and he didn't have a reason. Left there and went to Ticos. Been back to tico's countless times . had been to Shapleys numerous times before that also. Can't figure that dumbass at the door out though

What about the place right down the road from your house. CPaws. It is really good. I like Tico's to. And what about Dukes in Pelahatchie?

Thing about Dukes is you won't spend $100 a person either. Last time the wife and I went to Shapley's it was wonderful until we had to pay $175 to get out. Ouch

That is true and the ribeye sandwich is helluva good meal but the question was good steak houses in the jackson area and Duke's just doesn't come to mind when I think of good steaks. Other places may cost more but you can tell what you are or aren't paying for.

I agree with that. Dukes is not as good as the others mentioned. My wife and i try to go out at least one time every six months to one of the better steak houses. That's about all we can afford with this economy slow.

I personally Prefer Shapley's over Tico's. But my wife would rather go to Tico's. To each his own

Well I have never been to Ticos but many of you have and there are more suggestions to go there than to not....

CPaws/Webster House... Been there before.... I think it's comparable to Duke's.... They both are good... but not what I want for a romantic evening.. Yeah I'm trying to impress...

2 Rivers..Never been too but I will have to try out..

Parker House...Where is it at?... Heard of it but can't place it.

Shapely's.. Never been there... Heard it's awesome...but man I work for Brandon....sooooo .... you get the idea.

El Dorado.... been there...it was awesome... but there dang number has been disconnected...guess they've closed..unless anybody else has a different number than I do.

Parker House is located in Ridgeland right off Jackson St. next to the RR tracks, look for an old house and there you are.

Also try Elys in Ridgeland, right by Parker house in the new development on jackson St.
