I had a S&W M&P .40 that I liked alot. I also like the Springfield XD's
both guns are really accurate and reliable. Of course, you can never go wrong with a 1911. just my .02

I have a G21 with Lasermax. I have no complaints thus far. If you want to buy it, pm me and we'll talk price. It has around 100 rounds fired through it. No damage or scratches. 4 extra clips.

Glock would be a good choice. Why the 357? I would go with the .40 cal. Either way you cannot go wrong with a glock. I have 2 glocks, hk usp compact, sig p220 and a ruger 9. If I were to rank them I would rank the sig and usp compact ahead of the glock.

What are you getting it for? That is really the question that you need to ask yourself, if for concealed carry, that is a whole new ballgame compared to just keeping one in the house or truck.

You can't go wrong with a Glock. I take one to work everyday. If you are not stuck on the 357 think about the 45 GAP. It is a great round.

I would advise against a round that is not the most common out there such as 9, 40, 45 (speaking autoloaders) . I have a sig 220 (45) sig 239 (9) sig 229 (357 sig) and a sig mosquito just for good measure. The ammo for the 229 is (if you can find it) WAY more expensive than the others. While I like the 357 round in itself, plinking or wartime defense however it's just not the best choice IMO economically. Good news is all you have to buy is another barrel and the 229 is easily changed into a 40. But that $250 could buy a bunch of 9mm ammo. just a thought.

If you like plastic guns the glock is probably the best one out there.

Other than some folks hands not fitting around a sig I haven't heard or read of any complaints about them.

I want the 357 because of the the range and I have a 357 revolver cheeper to buy one cal bullet.
and I thought about the GAP its was my first choice but the grip is a handfull and the 357 is a bit smaller. but i havent ruled out the GAP i really like the sub in the 45 I will be cary this gun, but I like to plik and shoot all the time, thats why i'm interested the range that 357 offers......

ask chevy01234..... if they make it.... he has two of it.... and has killed three things with each of the two of every kind..... do the math.... thats over 1,000,000,000 things he has killed with 333,333,333.33 guns.
If it wasn't for bad luck then i would have no luck at all........

and chevy would say... have you looked at the 10 mm??

Personally, I would recomend looking at a different caliber for auto loader. I also have a .357 revolver and love shooting it, but I would go with a .40, 10mm, or .45 in auto loader. Which auto loader depends, I love my 1911 for every day carry but I love my Glock .40 for shooting random stuff. All depends on what you want to do with it?

An afterthought, I like the GAP as well, but you have to wonder if that ammo will be readily availalble. It didn't catch on like I thought it would.

I have a couple Glock 23's that are fine guns, although my carry gun is a USPc. I would personally stick with Glock or H&K in plastic guns. If you want to get outside of plastic, look at Sig, too. Have fun!

If your .357 revolver is a .357 mag, it's not the same bullet. The .357 sig bullet is a 40 casing necked down to a .357.

That being said, I have a glock 27 that I love!

dukhunter I believe there's a gun show at the Agricenter this weekend, you might find one you like there.

I'm a revolver guy, but I've looked at and shot glocks in the past. They'd probably be top on my list of auto's. They're "get it and go guns" without a bunch of safety mechanisms.
