Seasons over here in New Mexico(results and observations)

Postby czavakos » Mon Jan 26, 2009 6:28 pm

I hope everyone had a great season, below are totals and some observations.

Red heads 1
Mallards 19
Pintails 12
Canvasbacks 5
Widgeons 2
Spoonies 16
Ringbills 9
Wood ducks 3
Teal 6
Gadwalls 4
Mergansers 2
Bluebill 1
Canadians 1

2 Guns
Days Hunted 17
Limit days 3
Skunk days 2

We hunted more days this year for less ducks.
Last year we had 35 teal
End of the year we had more limits late season
The river was better than any previous year versus the ponds
Rangers were less visible this year
The amount of people was about the same, but we hunted more weekends this year. Skybusters killed us this year, why bother bringing decoys

All in all my son and I had a great time as usual, got to know some of you guys and are better for it. Well I just cleaned and put away all the guns. If you guys have any feedback on my observations, I would appreciate it. What did the duck population and action seemed like to you this year???

Anyway, I hope everyone had a great year, Hey fastpine if you find a snowgoose guy, give me a hollar, my son wants to shoot some snows in a bad way.

I would love to go hunting in new mexico. Are you close to the Bosque wildlife refuge?

and I'm glad you killed one canadian. They don't like us americans anyway.

that's ok, no one does.

from one greek man to another czavakos (i assume that is greek), geese aren't per se "Canadian" unless they are citizens of the great commonwealth.

they are Canada geese.

now lets go break some plates and eat some feta.

heres some advice.

you got to nip the skybusters in the bud.. you let one group start skybusting and the next thing you know they all be skybusitng.. heres how you do it.. remove the offending parties valve stems so their tires will be flat.. leave a nasty note explaining how skybusting won't be tolerated.. and dare them to come back...

disclaimer.. wtf do i know!
