Just bought one. It is a popular Russian gun that Remington is importing. So far so good. Shot 3 boxes of 3 in. Xperts and 3 boxes of light loads through it to break it in. Cycled every one of them. Bought a camo 26 inch barrel with 4 chokes for $439 brand new. Do a search on http://www.shotgunworld.com They have a subforum for Remington SPR/Spartan/Baikal.

Edit: I just read on www.shotgunworld.com that Remington is no longer going to be the distributor for Baikal shotguns. EAA (who was the importer before Remington) is going to be the distributor again. Many believe that this is a good thing, as the price will probably go down some and EAA has excellent customer service(so I'm told).

I held one of the new 887 supermags at the SHOT show this past weekend... first glance it looked too much like the Benelli Nova but after inspection it was a cool gun with lots of thought put into it.... I might just have to have one as a back up gun.

My father in law bought one this past season. He took it to North Dakota with us to hunt pheasants. It did an excellant job. It is a great gun for the price. He had no problems at all with it.
