Public Land Issue

Postby A5 » Wed Dec 03, 2003 10:24 pm

With all of the talk about postings concerning public land we should all set a few rules. Number one, and the most important, DON'T TALK ABOUT IT. Let people figure things out for themselves, or make friends with someone who can help them out. Two, NO MORE REPORTS. If you want to know if birds are in an area then go check it out for yourself. We have all put our time in and found different areas, and gloating and telling everyone that there are birds, or that you slayed them last weekend, does nothing but crowd public areas. I think we should all just stop discussing the amount of, or lack of, birds in public areas and let everyone figure things out the way a lot of us have. Good luck and happy scouting.

that is the biggest reason for coming to this forum.... chatting about good and bad times.... killing and or lack of killing is what its all about. sorry you don't agree but we all want to share with others our fortune or misfortune..... sounds like you've been burnt before and can't handle it. sorry bro but ya need to learn to deal with peeps hunting around you..... you have three options.... buy some land for yourself, continue in the same routine you are in by hunting the easily accessible public land or NUT up and find a bad ass place on public that only a bad sumbitch like yourself could handle hunting and laugh at all the other yahoo's that never get off the gravel road <----(as once told to me)
And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it, they will be your food.

As usual, the topic starts to immediately ricochet.

Specifics just aren't a good idea, some general BS about a region of the state is rather harmless. How can internet promotion of a specific WMA/NWR through a public forum help the crowding on that specific WMA, reduce pressure on the limited resource at that specific WMA/NWR and increase the quality of the hunt on that specific WMA/NWR?

A5 is not suggesting you shut up about your "good and bad times" or "fortunes and misfortunes". Blabber all you want.

At least I think that's what A5 means?

Who died and left A5 king of the boards? Go to other sites and the reports are there for all to see and the public places will still be full because they are free to us who can not see spending 5000-6000 dollars to lease a pond or a catfish puddle! I hunt the River/Wma by choice and we scout in the afternoon to figure out where to go in the A.M. "It ai'nt braging if you can do it"! So we do it and report! We also tell if it suxed! Oh well that is my thoughts

i agree, bad apples like a5, spoil the bunch. if you dont want people to know where your hole is and how many ducks you have or havent kill fine. but telling people what to do, boy, that will take you far, and make you tons of freinds. in other words, a5, when you stop bitching, we'll start worrying.

muduscker, help me out I want to hunt there too. What WMA do you hunt, what river do you hunt, which boat ramp is it that you put in, I want to hunt there too. Tell me, tell me, tell. You killin' any, what kind, how many?

After you go scouting today please post up where the ducks are so we can hunt together. Maybe I'll get there first and hold the spot.

Yeah, I'm with the boog-man. I ain't got no ducks neither so help a brutha out and tell me all the good public spots you hunt. Directions to your fav. holes would be a big help as I don't like to waste time scouting. I got one of them thar GPS machines that we could post up coord's for too..............Oh yeah, no PM's either, it's way too much trouble to open a new window, just put it on the main forum so everybody can take advantage of your hospitality..........

Public Land Issues

Postby A5 » Thu Dec 04, 2003 9:21 am

I'm just saying I think it's a bad idea to post specifics. And all of you guys that don't care for my post truly don't know the frustration of having people get right up on you in the morning. I do think many people read these forums and if posts start going up about certain areas, than the result will be more people in the woods. The people who truly love to see ducks pile in through the trees will be out there regardless. But when reports start going up that there are tons of birds on a certain area, then people start coming out of the wood work who don't have the respect for this sport that so many of us do. I might be new to this forum, but I'm old to the game, and I've seen this sort of thing happen before. Best of luck to all, and an apology goes out to all who are offended.

A5 your post was fine, some may have took it the wrong way. stick around and you'll see people make comments get jumped on and the next day their being supported by those that jumped on them the day before...

Dont sweat it keep posting those that want to stir the pot over yesterdays post will stir nothing you or anyone can do about it.

ding...dong dukbum, read it all again slowly this time.

Talking about ducks o.k.

Talking about specific public areas, not generally considered wise.

You hunt private and not public so we all understand your confusion. BUT, please tell us exactly where you're hunting, how many you got, what kind, etc. because I may want to get the lease away from you next year. Now if you own the land that you're hunting, well then we all really understand your out of touch situation.

Folks that hunt private leases wont tell you where they hunt cause then next year they could be complaining about some fella's that ran the price up on the lease. But then again if he own's the land maybe he will lease it to us :D
