them ducks leave the channel and head to where they can get something to eat. You know the corp isnt going to plant anything for them!!! Heck they didnt even plant the Becker boat ramp pit this year AGAIN!! Good stand of cockle-burs growing in there tho.

I mostly hunt around peppertown, but was looking at aeral photos and it seems there is a lot more water in the becker and aberdeen areas. I had heard that the regs were different there. Out by 12:00 and 15 shell limit. Is this true?

Tenn Tomm that is true for the pit areas only. You can still carry as many shells as you want and hunt til sunset in the rest of the waterway. They started that shell rule for the pits about 2 years ago. The 12 thing has gone on for years in the pits. They can only be hunted on Wed. Sat. and Sun. til noon.

I use to hunt on the waterway when i lived in tupelo. The weekends are a skybusting circus. Takes a lot of work to get to the good places. The best times are during the week. I still know a few good spots over there

Lazy drake your exactly right. If you hunt the easy access points, pits and GTR's then your wasting your time on the weekends. There is always a lot of hunters that don't really know what the sport is all about- and so on with the public land issue. But if you'll do your homework and try to find those hard to reach spots you can have some excellent hunts, When the birds are there. There is always tons of local wooducks. What part of the Waterway did you hunt when you lived in Tupelo. You can PM me if you don't want everyone knowing that information.
