need help with lay-out blind.

Postby richard b evers » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:39 pm

My wife is going to buy my son and I lay-out blinds, and I would like to know what the best blind is for the money? I would just like some input before I drop that much for two blinds. Tell give me the likes and dislikes

It pretty much just depends on how you want it to "fold up" as to which one is the "best" for you. I have several Finishers, and have been happy with them, you just have to be carefull not to lose the headrest. If you lose it, you lose the tension on the blind. The FA blinds are comfortable, too. A lot of guys like the new ones from Cabelas, I forget the name. The only one I have ever been in that I didn't like was the Power Hunter, but that was right after major surgery. If I were buying new ones, I would try to find a model I liked that had the "neotub" built into it, if possible. Hard to beat the khaki finishers if you can find them on sale at Rogers.

Are you looking to buy your son one of the Junior styles, or just get him a full size one and let him be able to grow into it

I have the new Cabelas Ultimate and I really love it compared to the others that I've seen.
The description says it can go in 10" of water...I would be comfortable in 6-8".
It is very comfortable and has plenty of room. I'm 6'1" and 250lbs and have really enjoyed it.
Now as far as folding it up, I don't. I leave the frame assembled and just fold the foot portion up so I can carry it on my four wheeler or put in it in the back of my truck.
They come in three different colors so choose what you want but know that they are priced differently.

Tell her not to go the cheap route .... I learned the hard way.... Buy a good "cadilac" blind not a "pinto"

upon the advice of several people on this site, I bought 2 Cabelas Ultimates for me and my daughter.

we love 'em and would highly recommend them.

they have 2 of the models on sale for $200 if they have not sold them all.

I really like my finisher. I have hunted out of the powerhunter and some big booty jaloppy that dukbum had it was very spacious but was huge when folded up. Overall I would recommend the Finisher in khaki with a neo tub.

Otter predator would be my pick great layout and if ya not using it as a layout you have a sled to put ya stuff in and pull out in ya hole.....have even used it to float some kids out in the field.....get more use out of one of them than a fold up blind
