This weekend turned out to be pretty fair. We saw a lot of ducks but had to work pretty hard to kill to limit out. Thanks to some good shooting and some excellent retrieves on cripples by our Lab we managed to get the limit out of the few ducks that actually worked.

8 gadwalls
8 green wing teal

Sat: 2 hunters
6 gadwalls
6 mallards

Sun: 2 hunters

Friday we killed 14 wood ducks
and
Sunday we killed 3 wood ducks.
I wish We had some other kind of ducks down here but thats about all we ever kill is woodies.
Through the years we might get 2 or 3 mallards a year and some merganzers but thats about it.

Sunday- 1 big fat beaver.

She should have never stuck her head in that metal square.

Didn't get to go hunting because of the boys surgery. Both were soar as hell friday and saturday. Sunday, they felt a little better. Thats when I went and checked the lone trap I set out saturday afternoon.

Opening weekend in AR a total of 19 hirds. A mixture of mallards, gadwall, teal and a couple of spoonies. Could have been worse. I'll be back after them this coming Sat. and using the layout blind rather than the pit.
