To be honest it may be the son of a mixed duck with another??

Like a pintail mallard/gadwall are the parents?? That may cause the dominant bill to go away??

On the wall for sure though

I think it's simply an imature drake! Ive killed several mallard/whatever crosses. this simply looks like a late born bird! Hasn't got all his colors yet.

A lot of green in the speculum, neither gadwall or mallard has a green speculum. Could be the angle of the pic, but the green speculum stands out.

I'm saying you got a pintail/mallard cross.

It is a Brewer's Duck aka Mallard/Gadwall, but not the prototypical as many don't have a solid green head. The bill is a dead give-away though as Mallard/Pintails would show a blue stripe. Tertials also show Gadwall. Very nice bird.
