Kicks High Flyer??
I was thinking about getting a Kick's High Flyer Modified choke for my SBE 1. I usually shoot over decoy spreads 20-40 yds. Is this a good choke for the money? Anyone have any other suggestions?

Shooting at 20-40 yards I wouldn't get it. Just use the factory IC

Re: Kicks High Flyer??
side kick I am on their Prostaff and I guide duck hunts. I have a full and a mod. on my BPS 10 ga. I use the full when I am the last fellow to shoot and have made 70 to 80 yard shots. The mod is great on decoying ducks and you will KILL them dead. And you will see a big difference in shooting your buddies cripples on the water
That full choke is deadly on a water shot for a cripple.

I shoot a full kicks over decoys at 30 and 40 yards i have killed them dead at 60 and 70.i shoot a browning gold 12 with kent 3 in # 4s. I have used it turkey hunting with 3in # 6s i have killed turkeys at 45 yards.its the best choke i have found that shoots a consistent pattern.

60 or 70 yards is a long shot for a shotgun....not saying you didnt do it....just maybe your distance judgement was off. Again not saying you didnt, i just dont take shots that far away.
Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself

All it takes is one pellet in the central nervous system, so the odds are better with smaller shot sizes. But body shots at that distance? fuggetaboutit.....
you did put in the plug, right?

Re: Kicks High Flyer??
I shot a mod. and like it. I have also missed birds that were close because the pattern was too tight. I pretty much always shoot 3.5 #2's, and am always the last to shoot. I have noticed that its is easier to knock them down at further distances. I shoot a 26" barrel Benelli Nova. I also, haven't really noticed a difference in the recoil; probably because I don't shoot enough. Is it worth the money? Naw, just a cool toy on the end of your gun. I got a gift card and bought it on sale last year, should have just bought more shells, or something else more useful. Factory works just fine, and my hunting buddies hate when I shoot because it is so loud.
Re: Kicks High Flyer??
I hunt with side kick and he doesn't need a full choke by the way he's been shooting lately he needs a skeet choke

I have the full choke on my 870 and shoot 3" #3's. It works well.

Re: Kicks High Flyer??
60 to 70 yards passing over me i will kill them 7 out of ten times that is straight above me with kent # 4s 3 inch. 60 to 70 yards coming into your spread or left to right your lucky if you break a wing.
