Some of the Best hunts i have on record were when the moon was bright and the sky was clear.. but i wasn't hunting fields.. find you a good timber hole.....easy

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that didn't have much luck. I hunted Thursday-Sunday. Nothing much to show for it, 2 mallards and 2 Woodies on Thursday. Hunted with 3 other guys on Friday and between the 4 of us killed 2 Mallards and a GWTeal. Saturday just 2 of us and we killed 5 Woodies and a GWTeal. Sunday 3 guys, 1 Hooded Merganser and 1 Crow!

didn't get skunked, but had to really work for the few we got in the timber Saturday. I've had good hunts in the timber on a full moon, but not this past Saturday.

Killed a couple Sat., but skunked on Sunday. I think the 15-20 mph winds had more to do with it than the moon.......

Not saying that it wasn't the wind but I have killed better in the wind than after a full moon in a field.
I know 5" of rain didn't help and they spread out to less pressure, but I only had a few break altitude to check a field.
Saw alot of birds but they had other things in mond than an old rice field.

I called off a scheduled hunt for Saturday morning due to all the water. I'm no expert but I did stay at a holiday
inn express once and I figured all the water would have the ducks scattered. Never thought about the full moon
though. Glad I didn't go because my fate would have probably been the same as most of you that commented.
Instead I partook in too much of the devils nectar and paid the price on the couch most of the day saturday.

Thinking about trying it this weekend, but with all this rain called for this week and the rising temps toward the weekend,
it may be another of those 20 pack nights. :P

I never really thought about a full moon having much of an effect, but i know something was wrong. We had ducks all week, and by the weekend alomst everything was gone. But the 4" of rain didnt help either.

I noticed the exact opposite on Friday. Even commented on the full moon Thursday evening, hoping that it would keep the ducks in the fields all night. I was hunting in a wooded setting and figured the ducks would be looking for someplace different to hangout the next day. Never had more than a few minutes pass without seeing at least "some" ducks in the air.

It was a really nice hunt, just like the old days.

Hunted a timber hole that has held a good many ducks this year and tried hunting it Saturday...but ended up being me and my dog sleeping on a log. Ducks were not interested in us and not much was in the air. Thinking back on it, I have never had a good hunt during a full moon.
