I've found a cable that I think will work to get the pics tommorrow. I've now found out that another member of the club's wife was in a stand close to where I was a couple of weeks ago and reported something similar happening. Said the bear came to the foot of the stand and scared her enough that the husband wanted to hunt the bear.......they're from Arkansas and our game management guy had to remind him that it's not legal here like it is in Arkansas. Several others have reported seeing them around their stands during bowseason when they're hunting persimmon trees.

The title of the post said "Bear Attack"

Just what exactly did it attack? The log? The rung of the stand?

Man, these bears are such sissies. Where are the ravenous man-eaters we've been hearing about?

Did you notice a collar on it?

Just being funny with the title....although I thought he was about to.

No, I didn't see a tag although I grew up with Brad Young and talked to him a couple of months ago about some pictures we had on some game cameras. He said there was a fairly large male living in the area and even gave him a name and asked if I thought he could fit in one of their traps. This joker is bigger than me but I hear the weight doesn't necessarily go on their size. His head is huge. We looked eye to eye and when I waved out the burlap I said loudly "don't make me shoot you"......not that he knew what I was saying :D but the noise probably scared him.

If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

If that were me, it would have been tested... as soon as his paws hit the rungs of my ladder stand, the cross hairs would have be getting lined up.

One thing about the LA black bear we have in MS. They will run from you unless you mess with a cub. I used to hunt at Big Island Arkansas and there were alot of bears there.
If your gonna trespass, you had better be good! Or have a good boat!
