LSU vs. Ole Miss

Postby Bourbon » Tue Nov 18, 2003 12:22 pm

Any predictions on the game? I think LSU's defense will be a big factor. Nobody has run on us all year. I think we will be able to pass on the Ole Miss defense. My prediction is LSU 34 Ole Miss 20. Should be close til the 4th quarter, but LSU's depth and speed take over. Beware #5 Skylor Green if they punt to him!

Hey bourbon, the rebs won't make it to the 4th. The rebs defense will get so tired at the end of the second quarter they will gie out in the 3rd.
Matt will pass for 280+yds
Eli will get banged up not to return in the second quarter
Clayton will have his best game yet
Flowers and Collins will never get loose for a pass
LSU 43 UM 17
Mam may I have alittle sugar in my tea please.

I think the Ole Miss pass attack will play a big role in the game. With Eli at QB and recievers such as Collins and Flowers, the should be able to mount a pretty convincing attack. I don't think either team will be able to run much, may be a pretty high scoring game. Ole Miss 38 LSU 27

I like the way you think timber-hunter. Playing for the NC in basically a home-field. How sweet it would be! Geaux Michigan!

I think LSU will be able to run. With our o-line blowing out holes and 4 healthy, fresh and proven running backs and Ole Miss's past defensive stats, LSU should be able to move the ball on the ground.

I believe our defense will be able to shut down the Rebs ground game and make them one-dimensional. Although their one-dimension is pretty good.

Keep an eye on #93 Mr. Lavalais. Don't know if anybody saw the Bama game, but he fought a double team, tipped the pass, then intercepted it. Helluva play.

That undefeated SEC bubble is going to pop... with a bang. LSU 31 University of Mississippi Community College 10. LSU's D is one of the best in the nation. 4 better than average runningbacks, and ole man for QB (a bit of extra confidence and poise) plus M. Clayton and Skylor Green as WR. Florida is the luckiest team in the nation rightnow. If LSU looses then I'll just have to leave the state ---- probably rode out on a rail.

Everyone keeps on talking about what LSU did to Alabama. How they dominated and if they played like that against Ole Miss they would kill them. Get to the numbers and you will see that Ole Miss's statistics where actually better against the Tide than LSU's. Go figure. (according to the clarion liar)

Difference in the game will be LSU's front four. If they can pressure Eli with just the front four, LSU wins big. Eli makes mistakes when he gets pressure from the D-line. He is to smart when it comes to blitzes, he will find the hot reciever.

Bottom line is LSU is way more talented than Ole Miss from top to bottom..

The only place Ole Miss is more talented than LSU is at quarterback. Mauck does not make many mistakes though.

LSU's receivers, running backs, and offensive line are supperior, and there is no question their defense is better than Ole Miss.

OLE MISS.... 31

LSU.... 24

Ole Miss is going to suprise a national audience on Saturday. Everyone talks about how bad our Defense is...well, we are undefeated in the SEC, the BEST confrence in the nation, so our defense must be doing something right. Look at our wins against Flordia, Arkansas, and Auburn...All were won (in my opinion) by our Defense stepping up when they needed to. Remember how many times we stopped Auburn in the RedZone and held them to field goals (not to mention the last drive)? And look at how many points were scored by the opponent in those big games against Flordia, Ark, and Auburn...17, 7, and 20. Sure, we let Texas Tech and SC score big points, but those were different circumstances, and I guarntee that we are a much different team than we were when we played Texas Tech.

Our Offense speaks for its self. For those of you who watched the LSU v. BAMA game this weekend, don't look for Eli to play like Croyle. Eli will be under pressure, but he is quick in the pocket and will find a way to move the ball down field. As a matter of fact, the strong pressure that the D-line of LSU will bring is going to open up the gap in the middle of the field, where Chris Collins, and Mr. Bill Flowers will be ready to grab the rock and pick up those quick, easy yards.

The Special Teams, I think, could determine the game. LSU's Skyler Green is good, but not unstoppable. We have a real good coverage team (remember the Special Teams hits against BAMA?) and I think we can control him on the returns. Don't count out Mike Espy, he has been close to running back a few himself this season.

LSU is a great team, overranked, but still great. But this is our year, LSU is NOT going to stop us.

Well, Ark. didn't have any of there running backs. I believe they had to play a linebacker at running back. Auburn is not nearly as strong as everyone thought.

I really think that the Tigers will get about 150 yards rushing and 275 throught the air.

Well, from an unbiased observer LSU should win. They will win the battle in the trenches. They've got a whole lot of senior up front and it shows! And should be able to turn Ole Miss into a 1 dimensional team. However, I have a strange feeling about this for LSU, they almost look too good! They haven't been tested offensively since the Fla. game, and the only other really good team they've played is Georgia, and in both of those games they scored a combined total of 24 points. I think this will be a close one, but I don't really think either of the team will put up a lot of points, I'm looking for a 21-14 game...going to the Tigers because they have one of the two best defenses in the SEC and some pretty good deep threat guys. But it really wouldn't surprise or disappoint me if the Rebels squeek by.

WAKE UP REbel Fans you cinderalla season is over! LSU has depth and talent which Ole Miss does not! A quaterback alone does not win against a defense like LSU. It is hard as all hell to pass the ball when you are running for your life! Wait, what I am thinking, this kid is a manning he will just get sacked! Good luck though and I will be watching from the hunting lease!
