Columbia Widgeon hands down is the best. And, it really is guaranteed for life. My first Columbia Widgeon, in original MO bottomland pattern, purchased in early 90s, lost its waterproofing. I sent it back to Columbia with a note to please fix it or send it back to me. They called me back to tell me that they could not fix it, but would give me a new one to replace it at no cost. I received a brand spanking new Columbia Widgeon jacket with liner in MO breakup pattern (they no longer have them in bottomland). New jacket looks great and passed the waterproof test in the kitchen sink. Can't wait to try it out in the flooded timber. Although the jacket does have the shell tubes, they actually work quite well --not a problem for me. It was very refreshing to see that something claimed to be the best and guaranteed, really was. Amazing.

The main reason I bought the damn coat:
Mossy Oak ShadowBranch
All my camo is in ShadowBranch and since they have discontinued it, I'm buying all the shadowbranch I want for dirt cheap. I've got a jacket/bib combo coming in, paid $70, reg. priced, $200 total. This is the best camo pattern they've come out with, besides the original Treestand, IMO. And they discontinued it. I wish I had the jacket here just to show you how easy it is to shoot those sporting clays with it on.

Wingman I dont know what your plans are but if you go to Macks Prarie Wings in November during the World Championship duck calling contest they will have a big sale. I bought a Browning coat there last year for $199, regular price was like 300 or 350. Its got the hydro fleece jacket inside. No matter what you want they will have some real good deals there.

Well I went and got a Columbia today. I've never had a good coat before, so I hope this one is as dependable as some of you say they are. Now the trick is to figure out how to shave a granola bar down to fit in those dupey little shell tubes..imagine that, a constant supply of granola at the flick of my finger tips! I'll make a cajun squeal out of any call with granola on my breath.

Wingman, you made a good choice! I just sent my old 'Wigeon' back to Columbia and just like Ole 'Butthead' Oops, I mean 'Bufflehead' said, they're gonna send me another one.....FREE! I bought that jacket from L.L.Bean in 1987....lost its water repellancy is that a word? ....and the zipper in the liner messed-up. The customer service rep told me to box it up and send it back. Since there were only 2 patterns offered in 1987 (brown camo and green camo), she told me to go to their web-site and decide which pattern I'd like to have. Ain't THAT somethin'! WOW!

I dunno about granola bars, but i am betting that those tubes will hold chico sticks or slim jims really well. Its amazing what modern engineering can do.

I bought a new 4-in-1 waterproof, wading length coat from Herter's last year and have been completely satisfied. I found the waterproofing to be superior to my old Columbia Widgeon.

Something that I have not heard anyone talking about is jackets made by Whitewater Outdoor Company. This product is great for deer and duck hunting. The jacket is waterproof, windproof, and breathable as well as soft, warm, and quiet. You can get it in patterns made by realtree and advantage outdoor co. The inside is fleece and it also has a tuck away hood that isn't a hassle.
Super Quiet, Not Bulky, but most of all Extremely Comfortable! You'll have to pay for it thought......about $250! I really like mine......2nd one i've had by this company!
