my boys first.
we went this moring on my sons first duck hunt, hes 8, I wouldn't let him go thursday, anyway we got out early and set up on some public water, we were there about an hour before legal shooting time. The sky was overcast so we had to wait a little longer before we could see, finally he got a shot,,,BOOM....miss,,,BOOM....miss, yeah yall get the picture that went on all morning, we finally had some teal, about 35 or 40 of em come in, he pulled up and shot and one fell out of the sky...when I saw that he connected I turned loose of 3 rounds myself when I turned around to check him out he was floating on his back,
when he pulled the gun up he lost his balance and the recoil sent him pot over tea kettle but he killed that bird..He made me proud we were 5 birds away from a 3 man limit he hung in for another hour before he even said that he was cold even though I knew he was....we finished the day at 10:45 with a full 3 man limit,,,,will get some pics up asap.............and yeah hes HOOKED,

Re: my boys first.
Sounds like a great morning, I took my son on his first duck hunt when he was 4, he was more of an observer, he didnt get to shoot. Next year he will be 6 and might let him shoot with me holding the gun and him, but by 2010 he will be ready to shoot in his own...... I think

Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself
