We just recently got a long tail and that was a step up for us. Now we are able to go in the mud but just get beat by these pro-drives. Just jealous, nobody getting angry. :D

I talked to one rules and regs guys with MDWF&P and there will be a rule change on ALL WMA's next season that will limit outboards/mudmotors to 25hp or less. The reason being there is a saftey problem with the faster motor because people are racing to claim certain holes. The MDWF&P is worried about being sued if a serious injury occurred due to this mindless racing. All I can say is enjoy it this season because next season everyone will have to conform to the new 25hp motor rule.

you people will come up with any kind of rule or excuse to try to make everyone have to be like you or take something away from them..If you don't like getting beat to the hole buy a bigger motor and learn how to drive it or wake up earlier and and know where other people are going...the biggest size that pro-drive makes is a 36, thats not a big motor for a 16-17 foot boat they will only run about 25mph with 2 people and an empty boat. When you add decoys dogs and all other toys its only running about 20. All this new rule is going to do is make everyone be all bunched up the whole way to the hole and thats where somebody is going to get hurt...since all of you people that cant kill ducks and blame it on your equipment or other people you should be happy because it wont be long before its a draw hunt only because of all the problems...if you don't like the way things are go somewhere else!! :|

I'm calling BS on that. I dont care what size, make, type of motor you drive...I will beat you to your duck hole by foot if it wasnt for that stupid 5 o'clock rule at WMA's. That is what causes the problem. If somebody is stupid enough (and I am one of those people..maybe not stupid, just obsessed with duck hunting) to get to their hunting spot the day before, so be it..they should be rewarded with the duck hole they want to hunt..not somebody that rolls out of bed at 4 am and has a faster motor than me. That's just my opinion..and I know alot of people that sit in those lines at 5 am that would agree with me.

Unfortunately Xpress, you are correct in the fact that all the places that are not on the draw system right now..will probably be in the near future

Can somebody please explain to me why you would make a 5 am entrance rule? Advantages of that? I just cant think of any.

I can't think of any at all! I sat waiting to hunt from 10 the night before only to get beat the the hole i wanted to go by some people that showed up 10 min before 5. That's just not right to me. I agree that if you are willing to spend the night out there for the duck hole you should be able to. Just don't allow any shooting after the allowed time. That would eliminate that racing problem. IMO the 5 am rule is for the lazy people that still want the good spots. Man up and go out earlier!

i agree i say we lift the 5am rule and then u can have a paddle and get the hole you want if you get there early enough! I'm shocked people aren't just pulling up next to people hunting cause you might whip there ass but it's still public you can hunt wherever you want. i think it takes out all this bs to just let people go whenever there lil duck hunting heart takes them. Like at the green tree that lining up in a row crap is bs.

I do like the 25 shell limit. Makes people make better decisions when picking shots. Cuts out alot of that sky blasting BS. I don't agree with the 5 o'clock rule just makes people race for holes which is risky. If there was no 5 o'clock rule there would be no need for a rule for motor size.

i think the 25 shell limit would be ok if it worked...but last week i personally had a group of people hunting across from me that shot in the air just 1 time at nothing while we had ducks trying to land in our decoys...if people aren't killing anyhthing anyway they don't need shells and they will do whatever it takes for someone else not to kill them

Well for me and my crew that hunt, we are poor college kids that don't have the daddies with the big pocket books and can afford those kind of motors. Personally I got to the landing at 1:00 PM the day before and beat everybody else there by a couple of hours. We were the first ones out and because we don't have the money for a $6,000 motor were beat to our hole by guys that do. Personally those dudes that have those motors just about sunk our boat when they went by, next time I will carry a 10 ft. pole and whack every single one of them as they go by!!

So "xpress" how could I wake up earlier than 1:00 PM the day before??

As lilhitch said I will beat you to your hole everytime by foot if that 5 o'clock rule was not there.
