walmart camo spray paint (krylon?), will take at least several cans of each color-- i did my boat with a dark brown base (may need to prime first), added gray primer trees/limbs, outlined those with black--then added light and dark brown leaves and black sticks/twigs from a homemade stencil, turned out pretty good--kinda resembles mossy oak breakup
you did put in the plug, right?

Man I'd hate to know I had to paint the whole boat with spray paint!! Do like I did and go to Walmart and buy one of those $25 paint guns that hooks up to your air compressor. Get a couple of quarts of camo paint and some thinner and you'll be done in about 10 minutes..........good luck..

Earlier this year i painted a 15' 48" boat .I fount Cabel's had Parker duck boat paint by the gallon.. brushed on 3 coats inside and out and only used 2/3 of the bucket.. been out several times and this stuff seems to wear extremely well... they sell it in I believe 3 flat colors, drab green, brown and black... and will run you rougly 30.00 plus shipping for a gallon. hope this helps ..

Painted two, 14' jon boats about a month ago. Took me 14 cans total so about 7 cans a boat. Since I hunt a cypress brake, I used a good bit of gray and brown primer first (primed the metal, doesn't glare, and blends in well) and then came behind with black spray paint. Actually looks pretty good--remains to be seen if the ducks think so  .

Just finished building a boat blind for one of my boats and painted a similar pattern on the burlap. This time I bought one of the attachments for spray cans that lets you spray a can with a trigger (just like a paint gun). About $1.25/can average so it was pretty cheap.

If painting when it is warm and your boat has been down in the woods, don't be surprised if a snake or two starts crawling out from underneath one of the seats. Happened to me about a month ago when about a 2-1/2'- 3 water snake crawled out and wiggled from the middle seat to underneath the front seat before I could whack him with my nearby machete. Painted the first paint boat and was half done with the second boat when the snake decided to come out. He got stuck trying to get out so I tried to help get him out (not a cottonmouth). Was concentrating on leaning into the boat trying to get this snake out when about a 5' snake comes out of nowhere, slides into the boat right next to where I am standing, and proceeds to kill the first snake. That big ol' snake tugged and pulled and banged for about ten minutes before he freed the first snake and then ate him inch at a time underneath the middle boat seat. Needless to say, I hope opening day is a cold one!

Alot of hardware stores sell the 'olive darb' paint by the gallon. I know we've used it a bunch.

I just bought a can of 'olive darb'. It seems pretty bright, but I guess thats its purpose.

I have seen boats where people have painted them the color of the water. When you look at the boat, it almost looks like coffee cream color. But folks have told me that it blends well with the water. I am wondering what pareticular type paint and color that is.

I was told that color was "Mocha." But, then again, the fellow who said that is writing a new tv show called " Queer Eyes For Duck Hunter Guys."
