Who has decoys out all season?

Who has decoys out all season? Guys I hunt with in LA do this...I've always picked mine up Thanks.

Not me, I pick mine up. The only time I leave them is from an afternoon hunt, when I know I'm planning on going back the next morning and am expecting the same wind direction.

Generally, I find that I don't have the exact wind direction every time I choose to hunt a spot. Much faster to put them out before each hunt rather than having to move them from last week's hunt because the wind is now wrong.

on a fixed blind on private property we have always put out around 10 dozen decoys a field and left them out during season.

on a fixed blind you can set up a trolling motor in your spread for motion. and other little goodies

however the club i am this years does not do this ......

I have, over the years, left decoys out all season. Depends on the situation and how you need to hunt it.

I do NOT leave mine out. There are too many variables. If the water freezes saves a lot of time to put fresh decoys out. The wind is hardly ever the same from day to day. Also I don't have more than 10-12 dozen decoys left, gotta be flexible.

Your right guys do that all season in La esp. on catahoula and all it does is screw up the hunting.

Webfoot did that one year at one of our clubs. Screwed the hunting up royally. The locals ducks learned realy quick that those were decoys. I would rather pick them up and put them back out.

I have about 180 blocks out per pit that I leave out at the begining of the season. Once it gets later and I decrease the number I will pick them up. I only leave them in fields and I have tried it both ways and it didn't make enough difference to justiy all the extra work.
