Archery ?????
I have been having the worst luck I hate to say how many i have missed but it seems to be a mechanical problem. Always seems to be the 1st shot. These aint long shots either. Longest is 20yds. I am either high or low. Shooting mathews outback with drop away and this is the 1st year I have had any problems. Had cable changed as bow shop guy said it was stretched and had timing off. Took his word and shot a few times and felt good again. Went fri had doe at 20 yds drew and couldn't see thru peep. Here we go again. It was late and My peep was a lil high and is a tube peep so turn should not have been an issue. Well sat eveing missed one low at 30 yds then had one late at 15yds.....again peep issue....... kinda fuzzy but took the shot... got bunch of back hair. Well I got my peep lowered today and shot at 20yds........ 1st shot...... 6 in low. Oh god not again........ next shot I aimed high and hit high....... shot again and dead on. Next 6 shots touched. Makes no sense but seems to just be the 1st shot. Blowing my mind and if I hadn't killed some already I am afraid it would be in pieces by now. Frustrating any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh and it aint the shooter before I hear that.

Lots of folks that I talk to that have issues are shooting Matthews. I know it may be a coincidence, but shure seems odd. Even the people that i talk to that have good luck hitting with a Matthews tell me that they really have to work hard at it. Some dont , but most people I have talked to that hunt with Matthews have some issues that they say are mechanical. Go figure.

thats my problem. Archery guys says one thing then another but still having issues but seems to be the FIRST shot which is the most important and kinda hard to warm my bow up at 430 in the mornin. I can shoot 6in low one shot the drive tacks for the next 10. I don't know but somethin gotta give and not any more $$$$$ from the bow shop.

Are you for sure shooting off your dominant eye? I had the same problem about 18 years ago kept missing with the bow and gun and found out i was not shooting off the dominant eye..

Not my dominate eye but that makes no difference in archery as I have known this for years. I know I am using my bad eye but I am rt handed so I deal with it. My point is I shoot either high or low but ONLY 1st shot most of the time and this has just arose this year. After a few shots it is bullseye city. I did have m bow "blow up" last year and things went everywhere almost like a dry fire as my knock broke and arrow went about 2 ft along with a lot of pieces of my bow. Well I got it fixed and had zero probs last season. 6 for 6. Just looking for mechanical answers that could be contributing to this. Not left or right but high low but like I said it usually only happens on the 1st shot out of the group. Fixin to be in the classifieds if it don't get fixed tomorrow.

When I switched it was like night and day. I went from hitting everywhere on the target to dead on..

Oh I can drive tacks but only after the first shot. Never had this problem. Wish I could blame it on my eyes that would make it easier to swallow. Heck I wish I could hit all around and not be consistant so I would have an excuse.

Re: Archery ?????
take the dern peep off Justin, just shoot a kisser button, make sure and sight it in from your tree stand, if it is sighted in on the ground it will be high from your tree, law of gravity

Re: Archery ?????
I may try that approach next year I am to frustrated to start now. I will do away with peep fo sho!!!! Shooting pendulum sight so it is "supposed" to be on from tree and beleive me I have shot from tree and ground with same results. Finally found a friend that is knee deep in archery shooting the new elite series bow and after seeing it I have mine for sale now. He said he could tune and fix my problem as most bow shops are in it for $$$ and just give you the run around as I have gotten. Guy put me a new cable on but didn't replace string. Said cable had stretched and was my problem... well if the cable is stretched so is the string. Oh well always next year. Thanks Shumake

Yeah those things, especially the Keller ones, are pieces of junk. Also, how constant are you with your anchor point? That was my problem. I was using what was comfortable to me and not a propper anchor point. Where you decide to anchor has a bearing on where your peep placement is.

I would say they it is all coinsidence, anybody that blames bad shots on a Matthews bow just plain cant shoot. And as for your "Bow Guy" replacing your cable bacause it was stretched and way out of time?????? Get a new Bow guy before you get a new cable, your string and your cable stretch together on a single cam bow, the more your cable stretches the faster your bow will shoot thats all. Your prob is defenitely the pend. sithe not the bow or the cable.

Not coincedence sorry. Wish it was and it aint sight either as I have shot it as a stationary pin. I have seen plenty of people have trouble with a matthews and it aint the shooter. Funny of the 7 deer I shot last year I never had a problem now I do. Thanks for your input though and it aint "my" bow guy it was a dinwit at bills and I have found someone now that has led me in the right direction and he don't work at no archery shop but knows his stuff.
