Avery Boat Blind

Postby bear » Thu Oct 25, 2001 3:39 pm

I bought an Avery Blind that I plan to use this season. Please give me any suggestions that might be helpful for its use and maintance. Does it really need to be stored dry?? Don't tell me that it is sorry after what I paid for it! but I welcome any ideas based on experience.

Thanks in advance!

They are a great tool if kept in top condition. After returning from a hunt, raise the blind and let it dry before rolling it up again. Get a couple of bunjies (sp) to help secure it at the bow and stern of your boat.

The Averys are a great blind. My duck buddy has one of the first ones and it is still A-1. As you were advised, dont store it wet. We use his every day but when its over air it out an dry it. I would not suggest leaving it rolled up wet exceptfor a day or so. Also caution your hunting friends about the scissor action of the frame work as it comes down. A nasty pinch awaits the one who is careless

I have had one for three years. Believe me, you don't want to store it wet. Once it gets "ripe" after a week of storage. It is almost unbearable to sit around, or in for that matter.

Better buy the rain top while your at!

It is a life saver.

Thanks for the heads up about drying the blind. I am looking forward to using it. It sounds like money well spent. I appreciate the responses. Thanks
