Need Blind Construction Info

Postby DeltaHunter » Wed Oct 24, 2001 8:02 pm

I want to build some low profile field blinds out of EMT conduit; problem is, my design requires use of some T fittings. While I know you can get T fittings for PVC, has anyone ever seen a T fitting for EMT conduit (and if so, where) or know of a suitable alternative. Thanks.

We tried the hinge door system (T's attached to the brace) with pvc last year on pits and on layout sleds and it works ok.

I originally had a pvc blind on my boat till I bought an Avery. I used compression tees to make the doors on top swivel. Worked well till my bro in law leaned over too far to reach a tree

Me and a friend of mine made some last year out of PVC. They worked pretty well till it got really cold. They help up through the whole season and we killed quite a few ducks out of them. You can take two 3/4" "T" fittings and slip them over one of your cross braces to make a hinged door. My dad is an electrical contractor and I just called him. They do not make a EMT "T", but he said you could buy a galvanized water "T" that is threaded then buy some 1/2" set screw EMT conectores and screw them into the water pipe "T". Then you can connect the EMT into that connector. I would say that most any supply house would have these things. Hope this helps.
