Duck Season Outlook Lookin Pretty Good So Far

Postby Greenhead31 » Mon Oct 27, 2003 8:06 pm

I live in Southeast Missouri. Our season opens this coming Sat. We were out puttin out our decoys and fixin the pit up this past weekend and there were ducks all over the field. So we called the conservation area that's about a mile south of us and they said that they were holding around 50,000 ducks and with the cold front coming through they were expecting more. So as of now, it's lookin' good for opening day up here. How's things lookin for yall down South?

If we can get the needed weather here, things will be looking pretty good. Hope you all tear em up in MO this weekend. I had a buddy that went to the Dokato's this past week but have not gotten a report. I'll post his results when I hear.

I called one of the guys that hunts w/ us and he said the ducks are still and he talked to a conservation agent and he said that the refuge had picked up a few more. Not a lot tho. He did say that the conservation areas in the middle and northern part fo the state are holdin a bunch of ducks. All we need is one more good cold front :D

where's all the snow that it takes too move that many ducks that far south this early?????? Ducks just dont move ahead of them cold fronts. Well @ least that what I been told on this board and by the press. THEY JUST DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! GOTTA HAVE 12 INCHES OF SNOW FIRST AND AT LEAST 12 INCHES OF ICE COVERING THE WATER TO MOVE THAT MANY DUCKS!!!!!!
