Info needed, Please
I have done alot of research on small hunting boats (marsh skiffs, sneak boats, square stern canoes, aluminum, and fiberglass), can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Maybe some of you fellows can help. Looking for something around 150 to 200 lbs. that will also work with a small mud motor and two people. Done alot of searching on the net, called several folks, tried many different mags and catalogs, and no luck. The only one I've found that I like is a boat made by Muddy Water Boats in Appleton, WI. The boat is 13' x 48" and fiberglass, will carry up to 12 hp motor with a max of 500 lbs. Talked to mudbuddy and go-devil reps., they told me that no mud motor is going to work on a 13' foot boat well. I can't seem to find a light and norrow 15' foot boat that's made right. Thanks..

Are you talking about a piroque i.e. Ron Chapman's mudbug I think. It is about 13-14 ft long narrow and could handle a small mud motor. I have one it is pretty cool

Good luck pedro. As you know I have been in the same search for many years and have tries several options. All of them had drawbacks and limitations. Weight, durability, seaworthyness, room, motor weight distribution, there is a Long list. Let me know when you get it figured out.

Lodi,
have you looked at a gheenou? I've had one for years, has held up well and they are making them better than when I got mine. (more floatation)
I've also seen a similar boat at some of the DU shows called a spiderboat i think that would also work well. just remember, there is no single boat for every situation so compromise is always at hand. good luck in your search.

I've got two Four Rivers boats. (11' & 14').
If you are not dealing with any rough water, these are great.
I duck hunt and chase Red fish with these.

The GT Rouge is actually not that heavy and its built w/ .125 alum just like all GT rigs. for 1-2 men the rouge would be awsome
Life is to short to only fish on weekends
Re: Info needed, Please
There is a boat that i used when i was younger and hunted in the cypress called a Ganoe. We put 10hp briggs on them and they rolled with two guys and gear. Its like a flat back canoe, that may be something to check into.

Re: Info needed, Please
It's spelled Gheenoe!!! What's going on Quack Attack? I have talked to so many people from all over and still don't have a clue about what I really want or need. I like several diff. styles. Just can't make my mind up. Guess I could just start spending money, and maybe in 2 or 3 years it may all come together. Sold my 15' 48" Eagle and 24 Hyper to a up and coming Matthews Braker as a stater kit. I just want something smaller and lighter for accessability. Tell me what you think about these muddywaterboats.com (Hunter I) and banksboats.com (Intruder). I like the gatortrax rouge but it looks to heavy. I also like the go-devil duck skiff. There are way to many choices..
