Anybody here from/live in Grenada, MS ?
As I'm looking for a new job - I submitted an application for one to a place in Grenada. When I was a little kid (6 to 12) we were in a Deer Camp out near Gore Springs and then occasionally we played Kirk Academy in sports in High School and camped out at the lake. Since them I haven't been into Grenada any farther than the Gas Stations at the Interstate.
What's it like there now ? Houses - stores - hunting - churches - etc...... ? I might not even got a phone call or interview - but if I do - I'll need some info to share with the wife and to aid in decisions.
Thanks for any help -
Geoffrey

Grenada is still a good town and good place to live. Good public school system too. Graduated from GHS in '95. Lot of school spirit and good teachers, at that time. Lots of deer clubs in Gore Springs. Gore Springs hunting club and Zero come to mind. Good folks out that way, too.
Sound familiar?

I grew up and lived in Grenada for 11 years. Left in 01' and it was still a very nice town. Go back every year to duck hunt. There is good deer and duck hunting around the area. There are a couple of good church's also. My family and I went to Friendship Baptist, but Emmanuel Baptist is a really good church also. I agree with Caller1 about the public school system. My dad coached football there at GHS and my brother and I both went to school there. As far as stuff to do around there, there isn't that much. Pretty small town atmosphere and everybody knows everybody.
If you have to be crazy to hunt ducks, I do not want to be sane!

Contact the Chamber of Commerce and they can mail you brouchers of anything of interest. Property listings, rental listings and the such. They have built a great golf course out at Hugh White state park, Duck hunting is always pretty good. I can hook you up with someone to go with if you move there. They have an over abundance of police verus the population size in my opinon. PM me and I can fill you in on some things if you ask specific questions. Good Luck

That is one of the reasons the city is bankrupt. Too many spear chunkers on the council and in higher positions.
Here is a website for the city.

May be a good fit here where I work. We definately could use some help on the electrical side. I'm a project engineer here.
We had a guy quit not long ago. Not sure if they are going to fill his spot or not, but might not hurt to send a resume.
Luvata Grenada LLC. is the name of the company. AKA Heatcraft. If you are more into the IT side, I'm not so sure about
that.....we have a ton of folks working in IT so may not have any openings.
If you are interested I can point you to the right folks.

i graduated from kirk in 95 and go back to see my folks now and then and to hunt. Great hunting around there and a good place to raise your family. if you get a job and are looking to build a house out in the country, give me a holler. my dad developed his land, which is about 5 minutes from town. big lots and several lakes/ponds full of fish.
