Anyone Ready For Christmas?

Postby DeltaCotton12 » Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:41 pm

Man I am. I walked into Lowes this afternoon to grab a few supplies and i was greeted with Christmas trees and lights. It was like a switch went off in my head and BAM, its Christmas time. Christmas time means a few things

1. I get to be home and enjoy good times with the family, and most important, my 7 yr old niece. She has grown so fast. Every Christmas is great because her and danged ole Saint Nick. She loves it. Just as every one as a child did.

2. Duck season is here. Last duck season was a great season for a number of reasons, but most of all, it was the beginning of a great relationship with my brother. I was moving to memphrica to live with him for 8 months while on internship. During the Christmas break, I brought home a reggin :D load of mallards. He wanted to try it out.. After his FIRST hunt, he was hooked. Since then, while living with him in Memphis, We have bought a boat, him a pair of waders and a shot gun. We're both excited about this upcoming season.

3. My friends are all home. It’s like high school all over again. I’ll spend most of my Time in Dublin, ms hanging out with the crew. Finding a little mud is always fun

4. The music/lights. Christmas music just pumps me up. The lights are great as well.

5. You get things you've waited all summer and fall for. That one big gift that’s just waiting under the tree. The one gift that you KNOW is it. Just calling your name as you walk past it.

I know its a little early to be talking about Christmas, but when the bug hits you, what can you do??

Now, back to Nat King Cole and the Carpenters!!!

One of the class mates pointed out this evening 62 days counting weekends until christmas break for me...If I can make it :|. Im ready to go home and be with all my friends I grew up with...do a little mudriding on the 4wheelers have a couple of bonfires...

get me some wild game of both duck and deer

curl up in front of a fireplace with all the lights turned out except for the ones on the tree.

no exams
All I know is... A wise rooster don't bury his head when a chicken hawk is around...he keeps his eyes on his chickens

Dude...Why'd you make the homeless guy pay for supper?

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! November 1st, I start puttin' up the tree and I am not talking about those fake things.

My favorites are the oldies; Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and of course Elvis! I do not care much for the rock symphony stuff, I like the old stuff. Even the instramental Christmas stuff. I keep it on the Christmas Classics on XM during that time of year.

No one mentioned "Christmas In Dixie" yet. Alabama's Christmas album is my favorite. I always put it in the truck early November to put me in Holiday mood.

If it wasn't for my 3 year old looking forward to it so much, I think I could just pass on Christmas this year.

I used to be a terrible scrooge until I had kids. Now, I am just a big kid myself. I look forward to putting the tree up so my little girls can help. The sooner the better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
