decoy cord
decoy cord
At the risk of sounding like a topwater, I have a question. What's the difference, advantage, disadvantages, of braided decoy line over the no tangle polymer line? Restringing some dekes.

You have to keep an eye on the polymer line for breakage, especially in very cold weather. I had some of my weights break off on some real cold days last year.

I hate that braided stuff all it does is TANGLE!!!
A man who won't has no advantage over the man who can't.
Re: decoy cord
braided, tarred stuff works well
wraps up easy and doesn't tangle

Never tried that...I know last season I went to get some of the dekes out and it could have made a new record for biggest knot!! I just had to put new lines on

300 lb mono
Re: decoy cord
how deep are you hunting? if its under 6 feet I use the thinest plactic coated cable you can find, it will add a little weight but not too bad and it never tangles, look at the RIG EM RIGHT weight systems thats how I did mine and I love em. but I have several dzn made up with the tared braid and egg sinkers for my weights I use surgical tubing at the end to secure it around the head or keel. I realy make my own weights too they just look kinda like egg weights. I try not to buy anything..........but thats just me.....
