Blue Phased Ross' Geese

Postby The Waterfowler » Sun Oct 05, 2008 1:17 pm

Just mounted this Blue Phase Ross' Goose. Cute little thing and also had another show up from a refuge manager in California. Cute little geese and among the rarest of naturally occuring waterfowl.

Are the original pics older, or did it take you just 2 days?

That's two different birds. The lastest one is skinned, but not mounted yet.

That's a real beaut. Smaler than a drake mallard. It will look good in someone's collection that's for sure.

They can show up anywhere Ross' Geese occur. So, yes they could be found in Mississippi. Biologists estimate the Blue Ross' population could be upwards of 1 in 100K.
