boat question

Postby Super Black Eagle » Mon Oct 06, 2003 2:55 pm

I am looking at an F&F, 16.5 by either 52" or 54" the boat was set up for bow fishing from f&f (has front deck elevated about 3" above the sides). Does not have gun boxes. 90 hp yammie.

In y'alls 'professional' opinion; is this boat duck huntable?

Don't know much about boat hunting, looking for your help.

Also, is there anyway to get more info. on F&F products?

I hunt with a 15-48 F&F boat running a 50hp merc. Just have to use your own judgment. Uncle ahs 16-56 I believe. He runs a 90 merc and I would rather hunt out of it....

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to duck hunt out of it. The only thing I see that would be a problem is when you put a blind on the boat. The blind will be sticking up in the front instead of lying in the boat when then deck and seats are the same heighth. But I wouldn't think that would be a big concern. Just make sure the blind in the boat is tied down really well when pulling it. Or I guess if you wanted to put a perm. blind on it, you could. Just measure the difference when building it to make it even w/ the back of the boat. That 90 horse Yamaha should push the boat very very well. Faster than I would want to go. ha ha.

I had a 17 ft war eagle with a merc 90 on it. I can tell you from 1st hand experience you'll have no trouble hunting out of that boat even in shallow water. If the price is right, go for it.

SBE

not sure about the layout oif the boat, but dont be afraid to wait and buy what you want even if it cost a little extra

when making a large purchase it has always been my experience to buy exactly what I wanted

you cant justify buying a boat because of a good deal or because you might make it work, or because its available...youll never be completely happy with it

hows avery?

Thanks all,
This boat seems to be the perfect size, and motor is plenty big. I am jut not sure about having to modify it to 'work'.

Found another one, loaded 17' sea-ark with a 90 hp 4stroke, semi-v and all the decks and trimmings. Little more expensive though.

Decisions, decisions.

Doc, Avery is just as wild as you can expect a spaniel to be. She is doing great though. Thanks

SBE.......I got a 16' Sea-Ark with a 40 HP Johnson, Avery blind, decks of both ends and a modified floor (easier to move around/no tripping), 4 adaptors for seat pedastils (1 on each deck and 2 in the middle),consol steering with a power T/T. I am very pleased with it. I agree w/ the doc, get want you want, even if it cost more, you do not want to go thru the what if's or the if I had only.......hopefully the extra cost for what you want will not be a factor.
Don't be stupid, you idiot.
