Dont put in for a draw if you think you wont go because its to far, i wouldnt put in for one and know i had a 3-5 hr drive and not go, if i put in for it im going but i dont put in for it because it is public land and it could be 3-5 hrs away

Agree with H2O. I live 3-5 hours away and I'm driving up on Thurs. My buddies and I decided we'd hunt if we were drawn, so we're going to make the best of it and enjoy a day or two away from work. And besides, even if you don't kill a thing you've got a dang good excuse to hammer down on a few beers on Saturday night. I know that I use every excuse in the book to get out of that Sunday morning trip to church. I prefer Sunday night! :D :D :D

Sorry then, I meant to say yes Howard Miller is FULL of teal, can't put another one in there water there as they are shoulder to shoulder. I had a freind that hunted it on Saturday and had limits in under 30 minutes. Here are the GPS coordinates, for next time you hunt:

Latitude (North)
28 23.5541
Longitude (West)
89 27.2208

Hope that helps, you need to go to know brother.

You know I find it very interesting that you would even look up the gps coordinates. You obviously could care less about hunting ducks. Guess you just couldn't handle not peekin at a hot spot huh?

This is coming from someone who spent 7 hrs driving 130 miles to go teal hunting in a hurricane hit area. Have a nice day.

7 hours driving 130 miles that is some slow driving. Yall should give sweetwater a break, if he couldnt make out to the hunt, he couldnt make it. i'm sure we have all broken obligations before that we should have done. Why hasn't anybody questioned pintailhunter about missing his saturday draw. Maybe he shouldn't put in for saturday hunts if he thinks there is the slightest chance he might have to work. What about the poor father and son team sitting at home wishing they could have gone hunting on saturday morning.

Alex, if you miss it because something came up and you cant get out of it thats one thing. If you put in for a hunt and dont plan on scouting and are worried about driving 2 hrs. with the chance of coming up short thats another. Like I and others have said If you dont plan on doing the work or are worried there might not be birds after a two hour drive dont put in for it, personally if i lived within 2 hrs of a decent draw hunt i would put in for it, but I live a min. 3 hrs away and couldnt make the drive in both ways and hunt in the same day it wouldnt be feesable.

I don't think any of us critiquing you on your draw hunt standards once claimed you shouldn't go to church. In fact many of us went out of our way to say that is a very good thing to do. In fact so long as I don't have a hunting or fishing trip planned I go to church.

We are all pointing out to you that if you go to church on Sundays, DON'T put in for a Sunday draw. Is it that difficult for you to understand?? Maybe you have drank too much sweetwater?

Alex, yes that's right seven hours to to 130 miles. The road we take is still flooded from Ike, and we had to be convoyed in to where I hunt. Had to go on a levee for 7 miles at 3 miles an hour. We spent four hours on that 7 mile strecth of levee. However it was all worth it to go hunting and fishing again, and do some clean up work at the camp.

If you are against spending $200...then my friend you need to find a new hobby. Put your money in the collection plate and maybe god will drop a few on your dekes in your dreams tonight. It's not about the money at all. You have nothing but excuses, that are ridiculous by the way, so give it up. The bottom line is, you took a spot from someone who could've taken their 5 year old son out there to enjoy god's creation. So what if there are only 4 teal on the whole property. Who's to say that boy wouldn't have killed his first, or just had a good time hanging out with his dad. And everyone else is right, if you're going to church on Sunday then you're not hunting. Why enter into the draw at all? Admit you're mistake and quit making excuses.

It's folks like you that probably would get drawn, pull up to hole the morning of, and work against the folks adjacent to you because you paid $200 to drive up and man you're going to kill a merganzer if it's the last thing you do!   Happy hunting!

It's ok MattRob just calm down the kid will get to hunt with all the maniacs at Mahannah this year if his dad put in for the right draws. And if money doesn't matter daddy should have got a lease or a paid hunt.
