some pretty good advice so far on peep placement...check the draw length while you're at it...not all bows actually draw what they say they draw, and if it is a used bow string stretch might be causing you problems because the DL is longer than you need....
your peep sight is not, strictly speaking, an anchor point.... your draw hand should anchor at a particular place when you draw the bow (I try to put the first knuckle on my thumb into my jaw at the same spot every time, and rest the string on my nose), your peep site should be adjusted to reflect this anchor point as the others have suggested...however, if you don't have consistent form with a consistent anchor you may find yourself flip flopping on your peep placement....
also, remember when you go raising the nock you will change the peep placement too, although not by a huge amount....
and, paper tuning is a good idea, but there are other additional steps that will give a more precise tune too....
out of curiosity what bow were you shooting before and what is your new bow?

Re: Archery question?
I would move the peep and start shooting. Once you have the peep set you can set everything else. Great advice on this thread so far. OH and I thought Matthews were supposed to come already set and hitting 2" groups and 200 yards form the factory.. HA HA jjust playing. Am I going to have to send Leroy your way to show you how to shoot. Leroy and me are suppossed to shoot one day this week.

If you move the peep lower it will cause your shot to go lower.
SO,
If I get my peep sight set where it should go that is going to cause me to shoot lower which in turn is going to cause me to drop my sights even lower which is impossible they are bottomed out. Which means my rest and knocking point will have to be raised. Man I just pray that the guy who had it before me has the center point off.
No, that's not correct. The peep is just a starting point after you find your natural anchor. Then all adjustments are made using the sight. If after setting the sight you were to move the peep down, then you would be shooting low. Don't worry about how the other guy had the peep and sight set as it will different for you. Center shot has to do with the rest position from the riser.

Re: Archery question?
Thanks for the help. I have drawn that bow back multiple times in the last 24 hours closing my eyes and I anchor at the same point everytime and peep is high. My old bow that I had set up for me I was very consistant and very comfortable. (rusty just ask ole leroy, ha) I think once I get this bow set up for me I will be fine.

Re: Archery question?
as far as having a consistent anchor point , i just put a kisser on my bow for the first time and i really like it. I had to be talked into it but. i am about 95% sure i was anchoring at the same point but now i know i am. now if i could just figger out how to shoot at a deer like i do a target. 0-3 last year on p&y deer. very frustrating.
