Re: Archery question?
if you shoot at a target and your are consistently shooting low then you will want to move your pin lower
so to answer you question if you move your pin lower it will cause you to shoot higher
so to answer you question if you move your pin lower it will cause you to shoot higher

rule of thumb is to follow the arrow
Life is to short to only fish on weekends
Re: Archery question?
Don't know why you would move your peep unless you got new string and were putting a new one in.
Re: Archery question?
If you move your PEEP lower, I am pretty sure (almost positive) that your arrow will hit lower.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I think thats right, if you move it down then you'd have to bring the peep up to your eye to aim, making your arrow point down and vice versa.

Re: Archery question?
I have always heard that you should be able to draw your bow back with your eyes closed and anchor and see through your peep sight. Well mine is not that way. My peep is a good inch above where it should be according to that.
I have several problems:
1.) I just cant get comfortable shooting this bow. I think it may have something to do with the peep sight. I really cant put my finger on what is causing it to feel bad.
2.) With my peep, rest, bow sight where they are now I can only shoot at about 25 yds, because my bow is shooting low so in turn I follow my arrows with my bow sight. I have lowerd the sight bracket as far as it can go and also the pins.
I could care less if I got to move everything on the @##$ thing I just want a bow that feels good and is set up for me. If it still does not feel right I will sell it.
I coudl be wrong but I think I can move my peep sight without moving my knocking point and my rest. My arrow will shoot bullet holes through paper. I am positive my arrow flight is fine.

Re: Archery question?
Close your eyes, pull the bow, and anchor it where it feels natural. Then open your eyes and have someone mark the string and put your peep sight there. Then make all your corrections with the sight. Always chase the miss with the sight.
If you move the peep lower it will cause your shot to go lower.

Re: Archery question?
You will need an assistant, have them slide the peep down into a position you can see through it when you are at a naturally comfortable feeling anchor point. Draw your bow, anchor with eyes closed, open eyes, have them slide it down until it gets to a point you can see through it evenly. Now draw your bow, anchor again, (eyes closed again), then open your eye you should be looking through the peep IF you anchored in the same place. A CONSISTENT anchor point is a major factor in accuracy in bowshooting.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Great minds think alike.
We both were typing the same advice at the same time.

SO,
If I get my peep sight set where it should go that is going to cause me to shoot lower which in turn is going to cause me to drop my sights even lower which is impossible they are bottomed out. Which means my rest and knocking point will have to be raised. Man I just pray that the guy who had it before me has the center point off.

Re: Archery question?
One of the first things I would get somebody to look at is if you are bowing your chest out when you draw. Sometimes the peep being to high can result in to long of a draw length. If your draw length is even a half inch to much it may be causing you to throw your chest out and this will make the peep seem to high.
Re: Archery question?
Ace,
I will get someone to watch for that, as I shoot with several people on a regular basis. However I dont think its too long. I am 5'10 with average length arms and I am pulling 28" draw.
