Ms. State Bulldogs are awful

Postby banded74 » Sun Sep 21, 2003 12:51 am

don't get me wrong. I am a die hard bulldog... I bleed maroon and white, but the bulldogs are just awful.. i honestly hope that they lose every game so they have no reason not to fire Jackie.. The past 3 games have been the worst coaching I have EVER seen. Now, I have never been a college football coach, but I do know a few things.

1. When there is a little over 5 mins in the game and you up 2 td's, you don't throw the long ball.

2. When it is 3rd and inches you don't run shotgun formation and pass.

3. When you are on the 2 yard line from a pass that got you 1st down, you don't spike the ball to kill the clock.. (The clock doesn't run like nfl in NCAA)

4. When your qb can't get anything going, put your other qb in to see if he can light a spark...

Just pitiful.. I know I will probably get bashed from the other bulldogs, but I don't care... This makes me sick...

The only thing that is worse than this year Bulldogs have been the last two duck seasons... I really hope duck season is better this year, or I might be in Whitfield!

i agree 100%, it has too do alot with coaching the individual talent is there its just not being put together right. i went to the tulane game and saw two awsome backs ,turner and norwood have great night. the problem is everytime they did something states def. let tulane get away with big plays. states def. is the biggest problem, because there is none. where is joe lee when you need him.

I'm not gonna bash you. I agree with everything you said. I just don't want to see it here. I come in here to get fired up for duck hunting. Please, take the Bulldog post to a football site. I'm trying to forget about it.

State deserves it. They fired all of their good coaches, Jo Lee Dunn especially, and kept the one person that is hurting them, Mr. Jackie Sherill himself. I love state but they have to get rid of Sherill BADLY!!!!!!!!

BILL Johnson please read topic
Ms. State Bulldogs are awful
then you can see that this was obviously not about ducks.

Now, I too seek the resignation or firing of J. Sherill. The rest of the SEC schools do not put up with losers so how come MSU does. Do you know that Sherill has the longest tenure of any coach in the SEC, the closest is the TN Coach, how many more years of loosing will it take. I wish my employers would let me perform the way he does......I'm thinking that he has goat pictures on somebody. Well you know the last thing I will say that bothers me the most is the way he allows his (our) players to dance and cut up after a tackle when were down by 28 freakin points, go figure.

I call for an all out boycott of msu football by supporters, if we hit L. Templeton in the pocket book maybe well see some change.[/img]
One good thing for me about MSU football, I wont miss any hunting this year watching a MSU football game.

MSU thus far (especially the defense) doesn't look like it even belongs anywhere near the SEC.

Fellas, JWS didn't wake up day and say, "I think I'll make a sorry football squad". He's doing his best. The whole program has come unraveled. He probably won't get the job done and will be gone soon.

But if his future was left to me in the morning, I'd take a trip down memory lane before I pulled the trigger. I was there in 1988 when UT came to town, they were up 38-6 over Rocky Felker's team. Majors called for the "fumble-ruesky" rather than a PAT. They scored 2 and went up 40-6. They were using us as a practice session and intentionally humiliating msu.

After JWS came I witnessed Texas come rolling in and get their tails whipped. You should have seen the "This is msu, they ain't supposed to do that" look the longhorns had as they walked off the field! I also watched JWS lead msu to beat Fla, Auburn, Bama, and LSU!

I guess I have a good memory and too much loyalty to a guy who gave us a few years of glory and respect.

Of course I have to say that I havent lost any sleep over the fact that State is horrible but I have to say that what I have seen you State boys saying on this thread is pretty much what every state fan I know is saying.

I know several State fans that hope they lose every game this year just to get rid of Sherril.

I hope that someone at that school has the sense to get rid of him and soon. The man doesnt have a winning record over his entire career of coaching. (I think).

You know the coach is bad when an Ole Miss fan wants him gone. But if the administration down there want to continue on their trip to becoming the Vandy of the west that suits me just fine.

go24

Does State want to be know for a few upsets or to be in the running to go to Atlanta every year. The answer is still the same, get rid off him. The funny thing is they'll probably beat LSU this week and JS will be a savior, I say BS, State needs a change and it looks like the only ones that can make it happen are us the fans, the alumni. So has sad as it seems all I can say is "Go Tigers Go"

Go24, this is not a flame. I try not to do that. And, we may have won some ballgames, but we have never had respect. No one I know respects Coach Sherrill. I have a good memory, too. I went to see my dogs play in Atlanta twice and left embarrassed as I watched the behavior of the players. Since Coach S. came to town, our team has resembled a bunch of heathens who think that dancing and talking trash is what the game is about. I am a Dawg to the core, but I cannot be proud of this team or any of the teams since Jackie Sherrill came to town. A respectable program should win more than they lose for sure, but that ain't all it's about! No one I know even mentions the words "respect" and "Jackie Sherrill" in the same breath.

Boys, we all know the Sherrill Era is over. I just ain't into trying to humiliate a man and his family and his assistants and their families. You see, when you live right here w/ these people and their families it's a little different. You get a better view of the human side...

I will not try to put down Sherrill and his family. Never have and never will. It isn't anything to do about the players. The players have simply quit. I honestly think they want a change too. It is time for a change. That is the bottom line. State has the talent on the field to be as good as anybody else. But it is up the coaching staff to bring out that talent. I hope that a change is coming quick. The only thing I see a problem is with ncaa probabtion hanging over our head.. They may not bring a coach in until everything is said and done... That is what I am hearing from some big alumni up at MSU...

I'm not sure that the change needs to be after the season, What is wrong with NOW!
It couldn't be wrose. A loss is a loss. So, why not get rid of Jackie and hire someone that can come in and try to turn this thing around before EVERY game is lost. Damn, they can play the way that they are playing without a coach. Maybe a new coach and a change will lift the heads of the players and they will play hard for the rest of the season and win a game or two. I've seen several teams change coaches or get rid of a coach midseason.
As much as I hate to say it Troy St. may be States only chance left for a win this year, and they won 35-0 Sat. That is if State continues to play the way that they have.
