Yes you could go with him........and enjoy the beautiful scenery, sit in the boat, drink coffee, talk about who has the best looking DR-85, wonder why the ducks arent flying, because "damn man the weather is perfect," commiserate about the good ole days of East MS, and head back to the boat launch, only to get back to your computer, and type some big long dissertation about how awesome the weather was, how sweet the decoys looked, how much of a man you are for not using anything post 1890, how your wondering why the ducks havent made it here yet. Turn off your computer and still have time to catch your favorite outdoor chanel commercial about sexually explicit decoy positions, only to turn it off because anything new and improved is the "devil." Grab a sandwhich and catch up on some sleep.........................................OR...............................You could come hunt with US, and kill ducks.......................................your choice..........................

My vote would be for some serious carnage. I can sing kumbaya and play skip to my lu at the house. A sun rise looks better to me if there are duck falling from the sky after some 3's let the air out of em.

If that makes us 'different' - then I'll be eternally grateful.

I've always said.......of the few people that I've actually enjoyed hunting with, I'd like to be remembered (if I'm remembered at all), by how I hunted them - not how many I killed.

Here's another shot you might like.........that's the bill of my wife's cap as she lays in her ground blind. Ducks were 20yds from her. I have video of the next 10 minutes - 2000+ birds joined those.

Image

Why didn't she shoot? She had her 8-bird limit before I got back to the spread from parking the truck at daylight. I got mine in the next 5 minutes. Then we laid there and filmed the 'real' show for the next 2 hours.

How 'bout this little guy?

Image

10yds dead to rites - what would it prove to shoot him?

........and this is well-worth driving 2000miles one way, to experience......the day after you watched 20K mallards leave to head-on down the Flyway.......

Image

........and if I don't kill another duck the rest of the year, I'll always remember how much my wife enjoyed this hunt......(those are 'her' birds, BTW)
Image
.........we didn't actually kill these birds......they froze to death and we picked-'em up off the side of the road.

One more 'shot' at that magic pond..........

Image

.........it's not like we don't have the opportunity.......rather that we appreciate what opportunity we have........

Here's something you and your buddies might find useful this year.........(for those that like gun decals and such).........
